I hate alarm clocks

I didn't sleep well yesterday night... had bad dreams the whole night. Woke up with a heartbeat of what must be over 120 per second. But I totally forgot what were my dreams when I awoke.

And I hate alarm clocks. When it rings it means you have to get up for work. The only exception is when I want to wake up early to catch a plan and go diving~ haha.. but that is like, happens once every year..

When I am on vacation, it's very funny how my biological clock works. All of us would set the alarm for next day morning. But it happened countless times that I would wake up just before the alarm goes off. Even when I set 2 alarms (one watch, one handphone), I'd still be worried that something will go wrong with the 2 of them and caused me miss my dive. hahaha... so usually, I don't know how, but I'll automatically wake up before the alarms ring. SS said I wake up before the alarm rings to check if the alarm clocks are working properly. hahaha.. very funny...

Lousy and good movie

Was at home today, watched 2 dvd movies. One was "The Nun". When it was being shown, the radio stations were praising it like the best horror movie, blah blah blah. I don't usually like to watch horror movies, but the way they described it, was like soooo... great....

It turned out to be the lousiest horror movie I ever watched. The actors were extremely lousy, the story was totally unconvincing.... in summary, everything sucks. I asked my bro to throw this dvd away. Not worth to keep at all. A movie you wish you never watch.

Then I watched Will Smith's "The Pursuit of Happyness". Yeah, it's "happyness" not "happiness" in this title. This was recommended by the dvd seller. hehehe.....

Will Smith is a sales man struggling everyday to make ends meet. His wife left him and he was with his son, whom, is his real life son~ Brilliant kid~ It was a very touching movie. I am not sure but I think this is based on true story. I cried at the end of the movie. So touching. Go get this movie if you can. It's nice.

Happy New Year 2007~

Happy New Year everyone~~ How was your celebration? I myself hardly celebrate Xmas or new year. I don't quite like the crowd and traffic jam...

But every time when I drive during new year's eve, there seemed to be bad things happened to me. Year 2000, we went to YY house and chat until ... 3am, I think? and when I drove back with ST, there was a major traffic police operation and I made a turn at the wrong place (I never knew we could not turn there...). We were still wondering why did the police stopped us. And I was fined er... RM1oo, I think.

And today, no, yesterday, new year's eve. I drove back to SG house to feed Miko, went shopping and dinner with Gab after that. KR had kindly sms and informed me earlier about G2000 is on sales now. So I went and bought 2 dresses with 50% discount~ so happy about that~~~ I didn't want to buy at that time, but the sales ends on 2nd Jan... so I bought them.

It never crossed my mind to cut off all the price tags when driving back and pass Msia custom. As my car had never been checked, well, maybe once or twice... but this time, hell all cars were being stopped and checked, especially Msia cars. Lucky there were very few cars, else I would have been stucked there for 2 hours cos people have bought many stuffs from SG and they were "negotiating" and other cars can't pass through. The tax is 30%.. THAT is a lot, man. (big money for Haji eh?)

The total for my dress is S$59. I had to be fined RM39 or something. The officer mumbled a lot, that I can't pass the green lane with things on my car lah, this lah that lah. "Whatever.." I thought. I don't want to listen to him, I just want to pay and get the hell out of there. No point talking so much. In the end the officer "kindly" reduced it to RM30 without me asking for it. I thanked him.

Other cars bought a lot... 30% is a hell lot... "Tolong lah, cik..." They said to the officer.

I hate the word "tolong". I hate to say tolong to those officers. When I got that "saman" on year 2000's eve, I said tolong to those officers, cos that was my first time being stopped by traffic police and fined, I was really scared. And it felt horrible. I am an Aries, Aries's pride is ehm, should I say... very "high up"? Whatever the word, you get what I mean. Aries loathe to beg. By saying the word tolong it is like throwing myself (or my pride) onto the floor and let people stamp on me. Thus if I get saman again, I will just accept and pay. Lucky I never did and hopefully there will not be a second time.

If I happened to have bought many stuffs, and tax a lot, I'd probably just pay and leave and not asking "tolong" to the officer. But I sure hope my wallet happened to just have RM30 or RM50.. So I can tell them, I don't have that much to pay. So how? Maybe they'll just say pay whatever you have.

Anyway, I wasn't angry or upset about being taxed lah. It is the law... By the way, my mum knows clothings will be taxed and I don't. How ignorant....

From now on, I'd just make sure I cut off all the price tags for whatever things I bought from SG. And be extra careful on new year's eve. All government operations always happen on new year's eve... Lucky the dresses were 50% off, else really "bo hua" leh...

And, Happy New Year to you all again~

My bookmark......

Yesterday I was sitting next to my bed, reading the vampire novel. I put the bookmark on my bed and cover the bookmark with my blanket, because Miko will bite anything she sees.

Miko was jumping all over the place, but I never did notice she stopped for even 2 seconds around my bookmark. Perhaps I was too engrossed in the book. When I finished reading, I realised my bookmark was missing!!!!.... "OH oh..." I thought......

And I went to Miko's "excursion" box (her favourite place when she's out of her cage) and she was in there. I pulled the box out and there was my bookmark.... and this is what was left....

My dolphin was bitten off from the bookmark, and the other end was not spared by Miko's teeth.... Jesus.... This is my favourite bookmark! And my bro bought it for me from Europe!!! This is sooooo maddening!!!!!

Miko ran to hide under her cage. I went over wanted to scold her, who knows she also barked at me!!! Jesus Christ~! This is really like having a daughter who talks back to the mother... arrgghh.. so maddening... 又好气又好笑....

X'mas eve eve..

Attended my colleague's wedding on X'mas eve eve, it's 23rd Dec lah, but I like to call it X'mas eve eve. I'm not putting up my colleague and wife's photos as I do not know if they mind.

Me and my Japanese colleague were there SHARP at 7pm, we really stepped into their reception area at 7:01pm. But the groom wasn't even there yet.. hahaha... so we went to hotel lobby to take some photos. And the dinner didn't start until 8:30pm. I was bored so I took some photos at the dinner table...

Ehm, I think because I focused on the light, so the camera assumed it was very bright so automatically reduced its aperture size? That's why the surrounding is dark, like in a dark room but it wasn't.

My subject in this photo was the reflection of the candle on the wine glass.

Another version of the candle shot, focused on the candle at the back.

My colleague is using Casio's Exilim, which has anti-shake function. I have never tried it but as I was too bored, I then took a photo (Casio) while violently shaking the camera. And it turned out pretty good~ So I used my camera then to try the same thing. And this is what it turned out. Pretty good still eh~? It looked as if the world behind my colleagues was moving yet my colleagues' faces remained quite clear~ Interesting right?

Heavy traffic jam on the way back.... I think we were jammed at Orchard Road itself for nearly an hour............................ I have NEVER been at Orchard Road on X'mas eve or "X'mas eve eve" at midnight. It was very interesting~ with people dressed up in costumes, etc. But I didn't manage to take photos of those.

We sent 2 of our colleagues home and reached my Japanese colleague's house (she invited me to stay over) after 1 hr 45 min... Damn tired I tell you.......................... and we slept for 4hrs and headed in JB. Today was another tiring day.. Once my stomach or neck begins to feel the slightest discomfort, my "battery" will run out in 1 hour. tiring...... came back and slept for 2 hours~ shiok~~

I want to go Madagascar~~~~

Everyday, almost everyday I would think about Madagascar. It is situated off the southeastern coast of Africa.
I want to go there soooo... much. It's not cheap, because of the airfare. I would have to save at least 2 years for it. 2 years because that's not the sole thing I want to do, because I still have to spend money on my course, on the exam fees, on diving trips, etc... I cannot forego diving and save for Madagascar. I'll endanger my life if I don't dive at least a few trips in a year. Your skill will get rusted and dangers will surface. So Madagascar will have to wait for me. I have to do some diving every now and then, while saving bits by bits for Madagascar.

Madagascar is such an amazing, beautiful place (other African countries as well). Many animals exist ONLY on the island of Madagascar. I simply llllooovvveee lemurs which is one of the animals that live no where else than Madagascar. They are just so beautiful.

Below are photos of different lemurs.

This is an indri-indri. "Indri" in Malagasy actually means "look", but the French mistaken it for the name of the animal.

This is ring-tailed lemur. There are quite a number of them in Spore Zoo and they are not quite afraid of human. I touched one of it when I when went to the zoo with EK last year. I touched its tail and then just slumberly get up and move away.
This is a Sifaka. Sifakawill jump side way like crabs when they want to move about on the ground, which makes them look ghostly, but very very adorable.

See how they jump~ Kawaii desho~~

Sifaka sunbathing. Don't they look so "alienly"? They really look weird, like those character which exists only in animations/cartoons, but a very adorable at that. The second photo looks like a goat's head stuck on a hairy human body. hehehe... It's just soooo... kawaii~...

THIS! THIS! The world's smallest chameleon!!!! How cute is that???? I want to see~~!!!!!

AArghhh... amazingly tiny, this chameleon. I want to keep chameleon~~~!!! I must, no matter what, I must go to Madagascar in my lifetime~!

Up till yesterday...

I was in such beautiful mood through out recent rainy days... right until yesterday evening, that is.

He came to accompany me for dinner. And we had to bump into her colleague . Of all places, of all kopitiams, this man had to come to the same one we were at.
And a noisy and talkative one that is. This man just wouldn't leave us alone. I hate it.

This man had stepped on the wound on my heart by mentioning her.

My face must have changed dramatically. He must have noticed, I'm sure, being a sensitive guy he is.
But so what if he noticed? So what??

Rain and coffee and books

Yesterday was the best night ever~ It basically rained from Sunday morning until today, Tuesday, it’s still raining.

I love it when it rains in the evening and through out the night. What I love to do when it rains in the evening, is not to go straight to sleep (though it’s really comfy). I love to have a cup of coffee and read. I have this habit of making myself a cup of coffee (if kopitiam’s kopi-o is not available) during rainy evening since an old Nescafe tv commercial, where it showed a woman drinking her Nescafe, looking out the window at the rain. I still remember the commercial’s tune. It warms my heart whenever I hear that commercial tune. Hahaha.. but of course, that’s years ago. More than 10years at least.

So yesterday I bought kopi-o from kopitiam. It rained and stopped over and over again. It’s a shame that I couldn’t open my window wider as the rain will be splattered into my room.

By the way, I was so happy that I went to Kinokuniya on Sunday despite the terrible crowd… because Kino offered 20% discount storewide during the last Sat and Sun~ I bought 2 Japanese practice books and I couldn’t resist another :

Robert Winston is the scientist who created the documentary "Child Of Our Time".
I didn’t know about the discount then. I was considering to buy this book after I’ve finished what I am currently reading, The Historian (below). But I don't quite like to go Orchard.. so to save myself the trouble I decided to buy it. ANd I was so happy to know that there's 20% discount~! I saved a total of about S$11~

The Historian is a fiction about vampires in our world now. I've only read about 1/5 of it. I am a timid person when comes to horror movie or books. I will get scared even if it's only a mysteries story. This book is not horror but more to mystery. But I was ehm, kind of scared already. So after I read this, I have to read or watch something more cheerful before I go to bed. hahahaha.. else, I think I'd scare myself to death

So after I read a few chapters of The Historian, I read The Story of God instead. It basically talks about religion and science. I was forever intrigued by people who are very religious, how they are so devoted to the God(s) they believe. I am not able to do that. So I bought the book to see what Professor Lord Winston has to say.

Intrigued as I am to the topic, it's still a somewhat serious topic. And it's not a book of captivating plots like Da Vinci Code. So when I started to read this book, I thought I'd sure end up sleepy after a few pages... but I surprised myself to continue reading it and refused to go to bed. I guess part of it because it was raining and it feels so good to read at such quiet (despite the rain) time. I read until 1:30am but I wasn't sleepy. I could continue reading...but I was sure I will be tired at work the next day... So I had to put down the books and went to sleep.

It was such a great evening.

And it rained the whole night, made it really cozy to sleep. Even though I slept late but it was a fine night.

My leg pain....

Wow.. today my leg muscles, the whole stretch.. from the calves, the back of my thighs, till my lower buttock are feeling a little sore right now. Result from yesterday's badminton session. The soreness is very evenly spreaded in my legs. Good workout~! Proves that I really tried hard and really did stretch my legs to try to save the shuttlecock.

I simply loveeeeee badminton~~~~

Tis the season to be envy~

♪~Tis the season to be envy~♪♪ la la la la la... ♪ la la la la.....♪

Yeah, this time of the year is when I calculate everybody's salary plus bonus. Seeing people has got 5 digits of money into their bank account, is not a fun thing. Envious feeling consumed me. hahaha...

But fret not, when I finished and advanced in my Japanese language study, I'll get a better job with better pay~ and then I will learn French. My ambition is to speak as many languages as possible~ Then when I get to go Africa, I can communicate with them. Athough not all African countries speak French but parts of it.

Xuan Xi's 1st B'day~

We attended Xuan Xi's one year old birthday on Saturday evening. See all photos in my album. Remember to click on the "Full Size" button.

Here's Xuan Xi with mummy ST. So cute isn't he?

A mei3 ren2 yu2 pose... We bought him the correct gift~ At first we thought of a small kid bike or car. Then finally we decided on a mini basketball set. He loves throwing balls into holes or basket-like stuff. ST also told me XX recently love throwing things into basket~ haha... we made the correct decision.

XX is very energetic..

ST, Angel, Natasha and YY.

Angel, Natasha and me. Yucks I am so damn fat. Although Natasha commented that I seemed to lose a bit of weight. But my arms.... it seems that the more I work out at the gym, the fatter my arms are...

YY managed to "steal" XX for 4 or 5 times.

Gigi, CK, EK, Huang and Xin Hui, who is expecting in Jan.

YY had done it again~I didn't manage to carry XX. I seemed to scare him off.. ahhahaa.. he threw away his bottle every time I wanted to carry him.

Time to blow the candles~!

Tested out the slow shutter flash and normal one. Slow shutter (left) is best provided subject don't move and the photographer has a steady hand. Which means I am saying I have steady hands. hahahahahah.. just kidding.. don't throw up your Saturday's cake...

Patrick, XH, Natasha and me. This time it is "do-re-mi-fa". Of course I am the "do".

Gigi had no problem whatsoever carrying XX. XX prefers guys than girls lah. So cute this photo~~

Look how happy XX is~~

Angel literally "rob" XX over...

A rainy Sunday

Just had my shower and lunch, after a great badminton session with CK this morning. Been raining since morning, nice cool weather to sleep~~ but I can't.. still have to go back to Spore later. I could take a nap and go back Spore after dinner... but it'll be damn crowded during that hour. I hate it.

Today's badminton session was great~! Well, don't know about CK but at least for me. hehehe... I ran a lot today, saved a lot of balls. And I wasn't tired and was in high spirit to play on and on. I guess because of the Asian Game motivated us. hahaha... Pity for CK though... I am not able to play base line ball with him, not strong enough to hit the shuttlecock till far end of the court... I hate it. Why can't I hit till far end of the court??? After going gym for a year now, I am stronger but still can't hit till the end of the court. Sian...

There's a stupid asshole today smoked in the court. Imagine we're panting and gasping for clean air after a match at the court, all you get is smoke!!!! I talked so loud, "VERY STINKY AH!! VERY VERY STINKY!! I'M GOING TO DIE LIAO!!". I intended for him to hear it and I think he did. But of course, to such inconsiderate people, how would he care??? Stupid asshole.

I wanted to upload XuanXi birthday party's photo but this blogspot dunno why, after I uploaded I could see nothing. I tried since yesterday... cannot upload. So I am going to do it in office tomorrow...

It's always sleepy at this time, after badminton session... How I wish I don't have to work tomorrow so I don't have to go back Spore and just sleep till night..... wish....
