Zoo again-1st trip in 2008

Went to the zoo again~! Went with Gabriel on Monday. It was so great, cos it's not a public holiday and it was very quiet in the zoo and we can walk in a very relax pace.

We always like to stop and look at tiny little stuffs like dragonflies, spiders, flowers, etc etc.

The one thing I was eager to see is the new cheetah enclosure~ There's a glass pane now and we're lucky that the cheetah was resting behind the glass pane! Although cheetahs are naturally slim and thin but when you're that close, you'll still marvel at how thin they are. Then when you go on to see lions next, you'll go "Oh... so fat..." hahahah...

Isn't it gorgeous~

Every time I look at meerkats, I just can't believe how cute they are..... Extremely adorable..

Isn't this photo wonderful? Yeah, I am praising myself. hehe. But I really feel this photo is wonderful. :p

We almost witness bats mating! Look at this! The male bat's penis has gotten really long and big! He climbed over to the female but she wasn't in the mood. She tried to bite him and then climbed away. And then the male's penis shrunk rrrreally fast. So funny.

Acrobat eating style!

Potrait of a lemur. They are just so wonderful creatures. These at the zoo, couldn't care less about us the human around them. So funny.

Look! This one here just remained there looking around calmly while we caress it gently.
People at the zoo don't advise people to touch animals. But why then would you want a dome enclosure like this? I believe the Steve Irwin way. That is to let people interact with animals in a safe, control way. Well, not that he did it in a safe way.. anyway, I miss him.

It's so fluffy! Gorgeous animal~ If only I ever get to hug one~

The Professional

I think, I can be a professional killer now. Cos I think I have quite steady hands. hahahahahah...

On CNY I took firework photos, without tripod. AND.. because the one who set off the firework was my neighbour 1 house away... it's really close and the sound was loud. My left hand covered my left ear, my right hand was holding the point and shoot camera. I had to use my right shoulder to cover my right ear while trying to take photos of the firework above my head. You try to do this. Go on, try, it's really painful after 30seconds or so. Plus, I have to keep my hand steady in order to take firework photos... and every time the firework burst "BOOM", my hand jumped, cos it's really too loud for me. So it's really difficult... After it's over, my neck almost break.......................

However, I got some really nice photos~ but just one try only. My neighbour last time set off a lot of firework, this year only once...

The photos came out pretty well eh? But since I'm afraid of the noise, I probably can't become a killer. But wait, killer uses silent guns what~~~ So I can be a killer afterall~ hhahaha.. siao..

Facebook

It's just so weird that guys on the facebook thought they can make friends with you by just one click. Just add you as friend and wait for you to add him as well. I've had been added quite a few times and it's just nothing but annoying. Well, I should feel flattered, you will say. I am, actually. But who would make friends with you if you never even bother to drop a line or two? Although... those who did drop me a line or two, I hardly reply either. hahaha...

But my point is, just click "add as friend" every time they see someone whom they like... is just .. stupid. No sincerity. For guys out there, I hope you won't make the same mistake. But I doubt any of my guy friends are like dat.

Caterpillar infestation!

You'll never guess what happened this morning~! I was out "hunting" for caterpillars!

They've been quite abundance since some time back, even crawl into our living room! My mum hates all these creepy crawlies. This morning there were a lot of them on the outside wall! I think she had killed at least 10 of them. One even got into our toilet!! They are one fast crawling caterpillar I tell you. The fastest I've seen!

But they look kind of pretty to me, as long as I don't touch it...

This one here was hanging on its life. It's been busted by my brother. Its "organs?" had came out but it was still moving. I think those organs got stuck to the floor so it couldn't move. Else it was still capable of moving, I'm sure.

My mum was complaining a lot, she rreally really hates all these especially caterpillars and earthworms. So I went outside to see if I can find where they come from. My house is a corner house in the middle of a road. Between the 2 corner houses there's a pathway and 2 "longkang" (drains) alongside. And grass growing beside the longkang. And not long later, I went "Wah!", "Wah!", "Wah! Wah! WAH!" non-stop. They were EVERYWHERE! This one here even got eggs! But... on a closer look, I suspect those black stuff could be caterpillar poo instead of eggs...

See in this photo there're 3!! I dare not kill them. It's disgusting to squash them. Asked my bro to spray insecticide... I wonder they grow into butterflies or moths? If not my mum and bro will make A LOT of noise, I think I will keep one in a bottle to see what it'll turn into..
In the end I think I must have found at least 40 caterpillars..!! Including those my mum killed then it's more than 50!! Geez....

In the midst of looking for caterpillars, I saw this~! A victim of spider I guess? But the spider was not at home.

And I spent quite some time "among the grass".. and took some photos. I had always love this tiny flower since I was little. They have this little flower which does not look like the usual flowers where they have petals around the center. If you look carefully, they really do have an interesting look.

These are tiny tiny grass flowers as well. I feel they are adorable.

While hunting the caterpillar my brother saw a lady bird~! It's quite big and walking quite fast.

Back in my house compound. Do flies eat flower pollen??? I thought they only fond of faeces...

This is a small flower as well.

It's really fun to spend a little time looking at the grass patches, looking for creatures. We city people hardly do that anymore. I should do it more often :D

大年除夕car window broke down

My family car's power window had to break down on today.... today..! Lunar near year's eve! Jeesus... Went to authorised service centres to try our luck but of course they were all closed. I then went to the shop which my kancil used to go last time. They were not open for business but the door was not entirely closed... so my bro and I went in and asked for help. That uncle is actually my "relative's relative".. And he kindly helped us to take a look. He said to us wonder if the spareparts shop has the sparepart for this car... Luckily they do.

Here's our car ... waiting for sparepart to come. The steel on the floor was the spoilt part.

Totally bent...

The part came~! so happy...

Luckily I went to this shop... else I have to stick plastic on the window... which was half open... The repair cost only RM50. Whew...

Here's me sitting on the floor.. waiting... taking photo of my own reflection. ahhaha...

The Power of Love

The power of love, is great, yet sometimes deadly.

Everybody knows that. Some people do great things for love, some people do destructive things for love… Recently we had a bad news of a friend. We are not sure of the details but we heard she ended her life because of love troubles. We are not sure how true that is.. Whatever it was, I hope she rests in peace. It was her life. She chose this way and who are we to comment about it?

When somebody chose death because of love, generally people will say he/she is stupid or silly, or not worth the compassion. But what do WE know? Those who chose this way, he/she must have been the loneliest, saddest, helpless at that point of time. Easy for us to say that was stupid.

The death of this friend, was a big impact to me. Regardless the reason of her death, she must have been extremely helpless... I know how that feels. For I almost had the same destiny 2 years ago. Nobody will understand how lonely one can feel even amongst crowds of people unless they experience it themselves.

She was such a lovely and cheerful girl. I was a cheerful girl in the past too. Well, outwardly I am still that cheerful girl. But sometimes, outwardly cheerful and crazy people, have a darker personality that doesn’t show…

Well, enough about sad things.

The power of love, is great. Everybody agrees on that. Sometimes I wonder why. People who believe in a particular religion, will sometimes change their religion for her/his husband/wife. But I always wonder, If you believe in one particular religion, how can you just change your believes overnight? I guess religion, to some people is just some "decoration" for life. That’s why it can be changed overnight. In this case, "love" overpowers "God".

Because of love, people changed their religion. One who used to love beef will stop eating them because his/her other half's believe is not allowed to eat beef. If I were to marry a Muslim, I'd probably continue to eat pork outside the home. Perhaps I am a bit different with people.. perhaps I am a weirdo. Most people will think what I've mentioned (stop eating beef/pork because of your other half's religion) is the right thing to do. But to me, I don't feel that's a MUST thing to do for love. I can love my other half so deep even to die for him. But eating beef/pork won't make me love him less.

I guess the problem is I simply don't believe in religion. What is religion when it can be changed so easily? Where is the conviction? Might as well don't believe in one. My life conviction is, do not do things that will harm people. I don't care if there is a God or Gods. For believing in this impossible-to-prove-God does not bring benefits to my life. But still I always wonder, why people changed their life-time believes overnight for their husband/wife. Then where does the believe stand? Just because of love? Then where is the love for their God? hmm... the power of love really is greater than the power of God, I guess.

Bugs & spiders

Photos of bugs and spiders AGAIN~

I love ladybird, don't you? They are so cute.

These are some weird looking caterpillars. Looks a bit like rambutan with a human face..

No idea what this bug is. Some kind of beetle..

This spider was kind of cute isn't it? The pattern on its body, quite nice.

This is another tiny one on the plant.

This one is something, caught a fly same size of its body. This spider looks similar to the one above, but this is hairy and the first one is not..

A friend told me he was frighten by a mimic ant spider when he was little. It's red colour, mimic those big, red ants, not the black tiny ants. So I guess this might just be the mimic ant spider he mentioned. It does look like those big red ants.

Too bad this photo was not sharp enough. It kept moving...

This grasshopper was quite big...It came rested on one of our plants one day, and remained there for a couple of days... Then it left. But it came back again, almost on the same spot! We're sure it's the same one cos its front left leg was broken.

Moths everywhere...

On the same night, there were 2 of these and another species of moth in my house.

Now the tiny bugs I once posted in the blog. This time they are really grown up.. until they've become green colour. Green colour and red eyes... kind of sinister looking. Not that cute anymore. The big green one in this pic, you can almost see its babies contained inside its big fat body!

There were sooooo many.. urrghh..... they really look disgusting when they've become green colour.

These yellow ones are much much cuter...

Broke

I am really the broke loh.

Tuesday I went shopping alone, walked till my feet were about to break and I bought nothing. Suppose to go gym yesterday but changed plan and went shopping again.

Finally, bought something I've been looking for some time. Bought a pair of working pants from G2000, milky colour. I wanted a white/milky colour skirt but it's so hard to find. So I settled for a pair milky colour pants instead. It's new arrival, no discount, sian. But it's an "investment" for future better job. haha.. Last few weeks I bought a working dress at Chinatown. Kind of ex too but all these are more professional looking attire, which is worth it.

Then I bought a diving vest from RipCurl. It's $145......... really the damn broke liao. I've been looking for this kind of vest in dive shops but those super ugly ones already cost $135. Spend another $10 for very pretty design is worth it~ Furthermore it's got titanium inner lining (provides more warmth) which the $135 one doesn't have. See below pic, nice right? :D but mine is with grey stripe not blue.

I'm broke. And I haven't got my Nike top. Siao liao. Feb has to renew my diving insurance. Lagi siao. March going diving. Oh My God, where do all these money going to come from???

Changed

I think I've changed a lot. Nowadays, I kind of enjoy going shopping alone. Previous years, ask me to go shop alone? I rather die.

To me, that's a tremendous change. I never imagined myself enjoying going out alone. But I guess I was forced by the circumstances.

Was talking to EK and SL, they too enjoy doing certain activity alone.

Have we grown up? Or our mindsets have changed? Both I guess.

Sometimes doing something alone is better than having to accommodate other ppl's preferences, schedule, etc.

I guess this change is not that bad. The only cons about going out alone is that, at crowded food outlet, you can't find a seat first then go and buy food. So, sometimes have to share a table with strangers. Which I don't like.

Happy or sad

I was happy on Thursday night.

I was sad on Thursday night.

I was very happy on Sunday night. :)
