At the NY Club

We went in at about 11:15pm. It was kind of quiet but the crowd started coming in after midnight.

I love myself for being so淑女...... sometimes… hehehe… (we haven’t started drinking yet~)

Carrie, Dickson and me. This is what people called 左拥右抱... LOL… Jolyn, if you’re reading this, don’t worry, Dickson was a good boy… yeah, he was… ;)

Buddy buddy. Steven and Felicia.

Felicia and CK.

Dickson, Natasha, YY.

Why was my hand so weirdly placed???

Dear friend, Steven. Steven hadn’t been sleeping for at least 30+ hours, I reckon. Poor thing. Steven, in my eyes, has always been… “cuddly”… LOL… I don’t know why… Even Malaysia’s famous chef, Chef Wan thought he was so darn adorable when they met in a hotel in KL. Chef Wan thought his face looked like an egg.. Didn’t he pinch your face, Steven? I thought that was so cute. Heheheh…
Anyway, I wanted to take a pic of me hugging him. We were such long time friends, I wouldn’t have to worry about Steven might misunderstood me for having a fondness of him. hehehe.. but Carrie said we both looked very unnatural in this photo… hahaha…

Khee Yang just puked. I only found out when I returned to the seat. I said “Ooooohhh..” while I hurriedly taking out my camera… *evil*… hehehehe…
But it was frustrating.. my action wasn’t fast enough to capture his “puke-in-action”… Lucky for him. hehehehe…

Dickson making faces.

Angel joined us only around 2:30am. She couldn’t join us earlier as she had a dance performance on that same evening. By this time, everybody has had “some” volume of liquor in our stomach already, especially…

Dickson...
hahahha… but he’s always crazy with good fun without any influence of alcohol. Check out the man behind. He was doing some rrrreally funny moves which made Carrie and I had so many laughs.
He was like, tap his foot 3 times to the left, 3 times to the right, again and again. It was ridiculously ugly and hilarious… I told them, that’s like playing a computer game. I positioned my hands like holding a joystick in front of me and I said “go right right right, go left left left…”
AND predictably, he "DID" what I “told” him to do. HAHAHAHA……

We later learnt that this is actually a popular dance move (if you can call that dancing) now called “shuffle”… I don’t know if I spelled it correctly. They actually gather on every Friday or what to dance like this… Gosh… DON’T EVER ask me to do such moves, I’d rather kill myself…...

I love this pic! Everybody’s enjoying ourselves, even though the music there sucked. LOL… Good company, good fun! By the way, I’ve never posed like that before. Hahaha… I think I look like a 兔女郎... ... ...

Er… I forgot these guys’ names… The red shirt guy is Tony I think, the other… Simon? They were just acting…

Carrie and me. Sweet girls, aren’t we? Hahahaha…

Dickson has gone crazy for trying to kiss Khee Yang… ... ...
Nah… He’s just pretending. Dickson is a straight guy with a lovely wife at home expecting a baby boy REAL soon~

And with the crazy Khee Yang “passed out”…

it’s about time to leave~
Ck, YY and I went makan prata until 4am, and then we went home.

It was a fun night~

Patrick's Wedding Dinner

Ok, I’m sure going to fail my JLPT…

Hahahahaha…. It’s not because I didn’t have any sleep. Lots of the grammars and vocabs I have never learnt before…

I almost dozed off when I was reading the questions… Something I haven’t “experienced” before during any exam. LOL… There was a point where I actually was hallucinating… seriously… flashes of what happened in NYClub appearing before my eyes…… hahahaha…
Chee Khun, YongYong and me were the first to arrive (before 7pm) at the dinner. Such punctual people we are. Hahaha…

Sin Hwee the bride, beautiful isn’t she?

Khee Yang, egging YY to drink Martell. He poured a fifth of a glass or so plus water and egged YY to “bottoms up” with him. At this point, somebody came talking with him. Clever YY switched the glass of Martell with a darker-coloured tea, and hid it under the table… I thought KheeYang would notice the cheat as the colour was so different… but he didn’t. LOL…..~ Khee Yang are you reading this? Hahahaha…. You’ve been fooled~!! YY drank a full glass of tea NOT Martell~!! YY, you’re brilliant! *evil grin* heeheehee…

How come my head looked so tiny??? Looked weird……

Natasha has always been a 淑女 in our eyes. Look at how I was standing in this photo…
exactly the same standing posture with Natasha. So that makes me a淑女 too~ hahahaha.. well, at least.. within the duration that this photo was taken.. LOL..

The naughty version. But too bad this photo is blurred… frustrating…

The girls. Felicia wasn’t in the photo, went to change her clothes.

The groom and bride drinking 交杯酒…
Oh no… it’s not the newly wed… It’s Steven and Ah Qiang… hahahahahah…

The boys and the bride. Girls’ photos with the bride was too blurred…

At the end of the dinner, Patrick was a bit blur already…hahaha… he thanked me for coming with a blank expression on his face… I had to ask him “Are you okay?”… LOL…. He had mixed drinking beer and liquor… A bad thing to do…

Finished uploading...

I've finished uploading the photos... Don't really feel sleepy... but... more like.. I don't feel anything at all.......... Gosh... My head is empty...totally empty... it sort of requires me to think rrrrreally hard about how to get to the Japanese School for the exam... cos I can't think now.. Jesus... I'm sure gonna fail... aaahhh.. what the heck, retake the exam next year then...

Jesus Christ.. it's already 6:15am.... I better be hurrryyyyY!!!!

A day without sleep

The time now is 5am... Went chiong in a disco in JB called NY Club after attending an old time friend Patrick's wedding. Left at 3:30am and went makan. Came back at about 4:40am... took a shower... and now sitting in front of the computer uploading photos.

I have to leave JB at 6:30am for a Japanese exam in Spore... I have to get up before 6am... If I go to sleep now I have less than one hour to sleep (need to blow dry my hair first...)... So... I better don't hit the sack...

I broke my own record now... going to take an exam after chiong in disco.. without any sleep at all. The last time I didn't sleep was years back when I worked in a hotel... Worked 2 shifts straight to cover a no-show colleague.

I don't have enough time to write all about the wedding and the disco today. Here's a "preview" of what was going on... heheh... (oh hey friends, if you don't like your photos to appear in my blog, please let me know and I'll remove it ne~)

Oh, guys, you can view other photos here. But a lot of them were blurred... really difficult to take indoor photos... You guys thought I have "steady" hands and good photography skill... but it turned out that you all were wrong..! A lot of the photos I took were also blurred.. frustrating...

A "reproduced" photo... Patrick is so handsome in this photo and Sin Hwee is so beautiful. Didn't know Patrick can be so charming. hehehe....

At the end of the dinner, these two guys, Steven and Ah Qiang were having... 交杯酒..... :p

At the discotheque. This is what they called 左拥右抱.. hahaha... From the left, Carrie, Dickson and me.

Dickson and Khee Yang. Khee Yang just puked...

World's biggest fountain

Went to Suntec City with a friend, took a few photos at the world's biggest fountain.

When I pressed the shutter, the wordings I saw were "is" and "message", but due to the tiny shuttle lag, it actually captured the following wording - "Love"...... just nice.

Decorations on the overhead bridge. Nice~

Singapore's local stamps

This is one of the local stamp designs of Singapore Post (SP). I don't know whether SP prints different designs at the same time or different designs after a period of time. I have been buying this design for soooo... long... until I damn "sien" looking at it.

Yesterday I went to buy stamps again and to my surprise, there's a new design and they are very very pretty!

What's more, it's got special message stickers on the back! It is sooo adorable... But as I don't write snail mails anymore, these are for company usage... I don't have the chance to use these stickers. So I just paste them on a piece of paper, just for fun, and then throw it away... hahaha...

No, it's not like that.

There are some people in our society, who would just deny every other person’s opinion. Whatever opinion you express, he would go, “No, it’s not like that.”, “I’ve done that, so I know.”, “My friend who’s done that he knows.”, “No, my friend said is not like that.”… blah blah blah…

I once saw my mum talking to another auntie. My mum expressed her opinion, that auntie went, “No no no… I tell you, it’s not like that…” blah blah blah… BUT what she said, was EXACTLY the same with my mum’s. She just never bothers to listen to what people are saying, because she thinks she doesn’t have to listen, why? Because she will always be the one who’s right. Because only the things she said are right.

Every one of us surely, will not think our own opinion is wrong. That’s totally normal. The thing is, a lot of issues in this world are NOT simply EITHER black OR white, right OR wrong. There will always be arguable points. There’s no need to constantly deny other people’s opinion and say, “No, it’s not like that.” or “I’ve done it I know better.”

Besides, do you have to really “done it” to know everything? NO. You may have done something yet you still do not understand the theory behind it. You may have experienced something yet you do not grasp the whole picture of it.

Someone I know always start a conversation with a “NO” then blah blah blah non-stop about what he thinks, what he’s gone through, what his friends have gone through. It’s like in the whole world, ONLY he and his friends have gone through everything, only they know everything. It’s totally annoying… a typical Mr-Know-It-All.

For example:

Him : ****(a kind of supplement) is very good for us you know. My friend told me.

Me : Yeah, I know. Everybody knows that.

Him : No, my friend who works in medical field told me. They know very well. It’s very good for your digestion you know.

Me : Yes, I know. Everybody knows that. That’s a common knowledge.

Him : My friend, he works in medical field, he said ***blahblahblah*** ………And he kept on going about what his friend who works in medical field told him.

In fact, what we were talking about is an extremely common supplement where everyone knows about its benefits. And he had to emphasize on his “friend who works in medical field” told him. How ignorant is that? I don’t think we have to have a “friend who works in medical field” to know such simple fact… Tak boleh tahan... unbearably ignorant...

Unquenchable thirst

Unbelievable as it is, David Attenborough's book - Life On Air (Memoir of A Broadcaster) was the first English book I managed to finish reading without feeling bored and without giving it up halfway through (I have numerous English books that I never finished reading). Then it was J.K.Rowling's marvellous Harry Potter. I really have to thank these 2 people. For after reading these books, I have developed an unquenchable thirst for vocabs, and improvements. I look up dictionary very frequently nowadays. Well, that's with an electronic dictionary... I have to thank myself for purchasing this e.dictionary.. haha... I can't imagine the time I would have to spend on if I were to look up the words in book type dictionary... A caucasian friend commented that my English has improved a lot ever since I read Harry Potter. I was so delighted upon hearing that. hah... It meant a lot to me.

I still have loads to learn. When I read other people's blog, their "chim" English makes me feel that my English is kindergarten standard... Reading those blogs sometimes make me go "What the heck is he/she trying to say???"... I could understand these blogs no more than legal documents…

Anyway, having a blog like this, will certainly help in improving my English. Hence, doesn’t matter if my English is only kindergarten standard to some people. Hey, I’m learning and improving everyday~ That’s what matters most.

Malaysia Among Top 3

[Quote from The Star]
VALLETTA: Malaysia is among the top three countries in the 53-member Commonwealth with the most number of tourist arrivals, according to World Tourism Organisation figures.

Only Britain and Canada received more tourists than Malaysia, which pipped countries like South Africa (fourth), Singapore (fifth) and Australia (sixth).
[Unquote]

WOW...... Malaysia did it again. Top 3, even if that only includes members of the Commonwealth, which doesn't include China, Vietnam, etc... but still it's quite unbelievable. I would love to ask these tourists what is it about Malaysia that attracts them here. I would have thought being a Muslim country, people would avoid us like plague... in case there are terrorists here, or there might be bombing here, that sort of thing. But I'm glad to know this is not the case.

Night Safari

Went to Night Safari with a friend last Friday. It was quite interesting during this first visit, but will certainly think twice if anyone asks me to go there again.

The ambience was very interesting, felt like I was in Jurassic Park, quite exciting. However, there weren't a lot of animals to see.

I had no idea that visitors are not allowed to use flash to take photos of the animals. I was too excited and at the first 2 exhibits I didn't see the signs... So I snapped and snapped...with flash on.. and I think there were people looking at me.. but I was too excited to care why they were looking at me. Ehm, so... I apologise here.. sorry... It was when I noticed that none of the rest of visitors were using flash... then it made me wondered...

I took these photos with flash... The otters were sooo noisy, in a cute way(to me it's cute). But actually they were fighting...

This is the tram route which we were not supposed to cross. There were water and fog.. I don't know was that man made or was it due to the rain. But it created a kind of eerie and mystical feeling which I thought was marvellous.

I stood there for a photo, as we didn't use flash, it rendered only my silhouette. I kind of like this photo.

These are the better photos that I managed to capture... The leopard and hyena were resting directly under the dim light, that's what made these photos possible with my not-pro-nor-DSLR digital camera.

I had the impression that hyenas are not nocturnal animals. Nocturnal animals are the main attraction of Night Safari. So I flipped through my book, it turned out that I was not entirely correct. Hyenas scavenge during the day and hunt at night.

I like this photo. It makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a rain forest.

Here, it allows me to imagine that I am looking over Lake Tanganyika, which is situated between Tanzania and Zaire, a place I'd love to go if given a chance.

Baby from the soil

I wrote the post about the magic bean till after midnight...and I had a dream related to it.

I was at my house's gardening area, looking at the plants.

Suddenly I saw movements, under the soil.

There it was, a foot. A baby's foot.

A baby's foot stuck out from the soil. I wasn't startled.

Then the images changed. It was another day.

I was squating at the same spot, looking over the plants, where the baby's foot stuck out.

The soil loosen, caused by the movement underneath. Something appeared, moving.

It was... a baby.

Yes, a baby. A baby which had grown from a plant's root, apparrently.

I held the baby in my arms.

Images changed again. It was, again, another day.

The baby was no longer a baby. He had grown up. About 7 years old. I had been taking care of him. He's my son.

And my dream ended.

This is really what happened in my dream. No lies.

Magic Bean

I was given a "Magic Bean" which is selling in a can. It can be bought at many shopping malls. When this bean begins to grow, when it pops out of the soil, we'll be able to see the words engraved on the bean. That was the first time I ever saw this bean. I was surprised to see that the bean was so big, about 3cm long. It looked similar to "taugeh" just that it's the super larger version of taugeh. haha...

I didn't expect it to survive for a long time.

I wasn't at home when the bean popped out. My brother took its photo which showed the words on the bean but I've deleted them ... so I can't show it here.

Nevertheless, I kept taking its photo afterwards, and here is the "journal".

(5/11/05)Its leaves are quite big. It was yellowish at this stage, I thought it's going to die soon. Picture on the right shows the flower buds.

(Left : 12/11/05 night) (right : 13/11/05 noon) The flowers sometimes looked pinkish, sometimes purplish. Maybe the colour difference was due to different stages of maturity. When the flowers bloomed however, it turned white. Check out the 2 little ants on the white petal (photo on the left - remember to click the enlarge button to see it in full size)

This photo was taken under bright sunlit condition. Lots of ants on it, the nectar must be really sweet.

(25/11/05) I returned home about 2 weeks after I took the photos of the flowers, the bean is already this big... amazing.

I shall see what happens next to this bean and post the updates here again.
