Similan Dec 2007

I had a great time in Similan~ I saw manta for the first time~!! It were 2 short glimpse of it but I am happy :D This photo is from Gabriel's camera. My photo of it was really blur. I was so caught in surprise as it appeared less than 2 minutes into our dive!
The guide had told us 99.9% we will see the mantas and we did!! well, not all of us saw it. I am really thankful that I did!! It was a small manta. Saw twice in that one dive only.. Before that day I dreamt of manta and I saw manta~ Next night, I dreamt of whale shark but too bad I didn't see one.

See here for the rest of the photos : Similan Photos

This was my strobe (underwater flash)'s maiden dive!! And I got some nice photos which I am really satisfied with. Here are 5 of my favourites :

1. Little crab in hard coral : This was shot in a night dive. I had only one shot on this. I like the pink portion of the coral so I didn't crop very tight on the little crabbie.

2. Moray eel with soft coral : My strobe actually pointed more on the coral than the eel, it'll be perfect if I pointed on it correctly. This eel was coorperate enough, I waited for its mouth to open big big to breathe and took the shot. The other moray that I took hardly open its mouth..
3. Little fish on sea grass : I don't know what fish is this. And this was the first time I saw this kind of sea grass. It looked like a shot directly from an aquarium, doesn't it? The grass looked very soft and it's very pretty.

4. Hawk fish with red coral background : hawkfish really makes good subject. I actually prefer the second pic because of its fins' position. But it looked like it had only one eye...

5. Little fish with sea grass again : The little fish looked like a baby in its cradle.

This was taken not long after we left the port, on the upper deck of the boat.

The blue sea was really nice~
My flat abs.. gone... after days of munching on tidbits non-stop. I looked like 3months pregnant....

The flower blocked my view... Else this would be a great pic..

Super friendly turtle!!!! It kept coming back for watermelon. We get to touch its head, its fins, its shell.. and it wasn't annoyed at all! 2 of our divers jumped into the sea and snorkel with it, "molest" it all over yet it still remain with us for a longgggggg time, long after we ran out of watermelon.

It felt so much like playing with a puppy.
There was another turtle came to our boat on the next day. So.... fun~!!
Everybody looking and playing with the turtle.

Another hawkfish shot.

Gab took this pic as I couldn't get my strobe to point on the correct place. This was during the first few dives where I struggled in finding the correct angle for the strobe.

Another turtle~

Similan sunset~

BIG BIG lobsters!

We saw the most octopus in this trip~ I love octopus!

This octopus remained with us for a long time too. It went under the rock, came out, went in, came out. So funny. We were pretty close. I was a bit scared that it will get frustrated of us and jump on my face, so I backed up. haha... There's no way we can fight with its many, strong suckers underneath its tentacles.

The not-so-aggresive-triggerfish. I thought I was the only who took this shot, the triggerfish with one tooth less. Turned out that everybody took this same shot, almost same posture too!

A crab in super red sponges.

Super big crab!!!

I call this "double-decker shrimp", cos it looks like the prawn printed on Double Decker prawn cracker.

The sea was full of blenny.

We saw this "cowboy diver" underwater! He wore a hat while diving! I totally blur... when I saw him.

I think this guy was in the same group with the cow-boy. The act-macho-dive-with-swimming-trunk-diver. The water was pretty cold and he did look cold. ha! Serves him right if he felt cold.

Pink diver!!

I was only taking the photo of the little flower like thing on the sea-whip. Not so sharp.

This stonefish laid on the sea grass, it looked soooooo comfortable. Makes you want to lay on the sea grass too.

I was waiting for the blenny to get behind the purple soft coral to take a shot like this.

On sun deck. That was a very nice sun deck~

A 5 days trip, gone. Looking forward to dive Tioman again in March when season open~!!!!!

5th!

HappY! One great news before I go holiday. My classmate just sms me said I got the 5th highest score in my Japanese exam. Wah, totally unexpected. Last year I expected myself to be in top 5 but I dropped to 32!!! I expect this year worse but hey what a surprise! I hope he's not playing pranks on me :p

happy happy happy~

Similan is waiting

It's been a real struggle not to hate everything in the office. Luckily tomorrow I am going holiday~ Similan is waiting for us~ I hope the weather will be great there. I only managed to find weather forecast on PHuket. Similan is some distance away. I do hope Similan's weather is not the same with PHuket. It's predicted to be raining for the next few days in Phuket.... 2 of our friends are sick. Hope they recover by tomorrow....

Tonight I'm gonna have to send Miko to "hotel". I don't like this part of what I should do when I have a trip somewhere. I feel so guilty to send her away. Perhaps she already knows, already get used to it, when I send her away, I WILL COME BACK and fetch her. But I just hope she won't have phobia towards the pet carrier... if she does, I'm in trouble.

I wish myself a happy, happy, wonderful diving trip~!

Blow up the air-cond

I am so fucking hot! NOT hot-babe's hot. Really hot!

When I feel hot at work, I can't work, the hell with conservation. What "set the air-cond at 25degree Celsius"?! Might as well blow up the air-cond and open the window! The air outside now is much much much colder than here!!!!!!! I can work under the sun, but I cannot work in an enclosed area with such temperature!

Idiot people! I gave boss a perfect solution and make everybody happy. but no, he chose his engineer over me, a stupid administrator. Fine.

I will make sure when I resign, the reason I will be stating there shall be "It is too hot an environment for me to work in. It is extremely bad for my health. I have suggested a perfect solution yet the company chose to ignore this simple method and chose to disregard my simplest request of a comfortable working environment. Therefore I feel I am not appreciated here." HA! That sounds perfect!

Women's biggest mistakes

I seriously think, women's biggest mistake is trying to change a man. Or thinking they can change their men.

No men will ever change for the women they love, however much they love them. Tiny little habit does not count. But actually even habits also... it's quite impossible for them to change. Take my father for example. My parents have been married for 30 over years, and my mother still complain about my father's annoying habit and he's still refuses to change.

To men, loving the women and changing their habit/character, is 2 different matters. I love you does not mean I should change for you. Which I think, is true. I'd say, maybe 1 in 10,000 men, might change for his love. And he must be quite a wimp and those, will die without love that kind of man.

But women never give up hope, I still have friends around me thinking their men will change, one day. Oh for God's sake, WAKE UP!

Women's second biggest mistake is thinking their men SHOULD know what's on the women's mind without saying out loud. PPPlease.... Nobody can figure out what's on a woman's mind. I am a woman, I know. hahaa.... Women and men are incredibly different, thinking wise. Women tend to complicate things. Whereas men, are incredily simple minded. :P

Most of the time, what we think men are thinking, are incorrect. For example, I received an email telling about one story and I think that's so true. The story goes where a woman, is very unhappy. She wrote in her diary, asking why her husband has been cold to her that day, why he hasn't talk much to her, is it that he is no longer attracted to her? Is there something wrong in their marriage? And then, guess what the husband wrote in his diary: "Liverpool lost today. Bad mood."
See? That is a very typical story.

What we want from the men, please, just tell them. Nothing wrong to just open your mouth and tell them what's on your mind. And DON'T expect too often to have surprises from men, cos, unless he's exceptionally romantic, you're bound to be disappointed. That's just the way it is. If you want a romantic dinner on your anniversary, tell him. Don't wait to see what he'll do. Most likely you'll be disappointed and you'll be grumpy and spoil everything on the anniversary day.

So women who commit these two "crimes", please, wake up.

Naked photo

I really wish to lose a few pounds more. And then, I hope I can have some photos taken, naked. I mean, like those celebrities' magazine cover, naked but used arms and legs to block out the "important parts".

I've always dream of doing that. But first, not slim enough. Second, it's very expensive to go professional studio to take these photos. Third, how to pose naturally in front of a total stranger?? Well, actually how to pose naked in front of anybody (except if got a pro photographer boyfren) at all? hahahaha.. but I think, if I can afford a studio shoot, I will go for it.

My first obstacle : not slim enough. I am working towards a slimmer body. I am confident I can achieve it soon.

Second obstacle : money. This may requires a longer time... I hope by the time I have the spare money for a photo shoot I'll still have a nice body. hahahaha....

Third, shyness in front of the photographer. This, I think can be overcome easily. No problem. Just need some time to get used to.

Anybody with good photography skill wanna volunteer? For free? :p haha..
I hope I can fulfill this dream soon.

And if I got married some day, I hope I can shoot naked photos with my husband. haha. I don't want wedding gown photoshoot but naked photoshoot ;) so meaning my husband's body cannot be too.. er.. sloppy.

HOliday mood is back

Ha! My buddy lied to me! He never even asked Dr whether he can dive. He just lied to me for fun. @#*$&$*#

Dr said can't see fracture line from the x ray but that doesn't mean there's no fracture. Have to see X ray again two weeks later. But at least now we know it's not too serious. Think he should be able to dive.

Walao eh... scared me.. Caused me so bad mood the whole day yesterday. Ha!

Gone my holiday mood

Our diving holiday to Similan is not far away and my buddy gone and got himself injured. @#*&$*&%*$ Fractured his hand. I've told him umpteen time to be careful at work. Yet he keeps getting himself injured here and there. UUURRRRGGGHHHH!!! Totally spoilt my holiday mood. Holiday is secondary. The most angry part is he keeps putting himself in situation where I'd be worried for him.

He was confident that he will make the trip and able to go diving. Today Dr said cannot go diving. UUUUUUUUURRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!! FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so happy about the trip! Now this had to happen! What the fuck! !!!

I squash ants for photo-taking

My room is always under attack from ants. I can say that my room is rather clean. But they seem to love my room a lot and are always on the prowl for nest sites, IN MY ROOM. I totally hate it. I will crawl on the floor to follow them but they are often quite scattered when they are in searching mode. Once they found a prefered place, they will march in in lines. So before they found a prefered place, it's not easy to find where they come from and kill them.

I can't kill them all since I couldn't find where they come from. So I will kill one when I see one. I squashed one one night. Apparently I had squashed its abdomen and not the whole ant. These are the tiny tiny ants, about 1-2mm. It's kind of weird that I only squashed its abdomen cos it being so tiny and my fingers so big. Its abdomen squashed but it was still moving, alive. Which prompted me to take out my camera.

It doesn't look good. I know, I am an ant killer. But, who cares? They bug me, I kill them.

The next day I tried squashing ants again, but I meant not to squash the whole thing cos I want to take their photos. Again, so happened that I squashed its abdomen again. But unlike this one here, its upper body detached from the squashed abdomen...and continued to walk away... with only its upper torso.

This is another one. It's rather complete, i.e. not squashed.

Does your bathroom has those little insects? It has a love shape body/wing. It's about, 3, 4 mm in width. I took a photo of it. Then magnify the photo. Wah... I didn't know they look like this, didn't know they have furry body.

And then I went out to the plants, and see if there's any other insects. This little one here, is about 2mm the most. It kept moving and I couldn't get better photos. After a few shots it jumped away. At first I thought it's a ladybird-like bug. When I magnified the photo, I think it's a spider.. I haven't seen a spider like this before, and I didn't know they can be this small. I am not sure though. But look closely, it seems to have 4 pairs of legs, insects have only 3 pairs. And you can see something on it which looks like spiders' many pairs of eyes. Did you know, some spiders have 6 eyes, some 4, some 2.. This looks like it has 4 eyes. This is its side view. So what do you think? You think it's a spider?

And little snail. About 1cm in length. I've taken quite a few shots, only in this one I was able to capture its eyes in focus. So cute~
Oh I love taking these little crawlies' photos~ EXCEPT disgusting things like cockroaches. They better stay away from me...
