Nature (2)

This spider, is golden/orange. It's nearly 1cm.

I waited and waited and it looked up at me! Look at its big black eyes. The eyes are just sooooo pretty.

I can't recall but I think this is another spider. Side view.

An unknown bug.

There were many of them.

Another spider. This is not that pretty as the eyes are white and not prominent.

This poor one has lost some of its legs.

Ugly caterpillars.

Look closely and you'll see its big brown eyes.

Another caterpillar.

A simple photo.

Another angle.

I never get tired of spider eyes!! (remember to click to see bigger photo)

And another. This one was trying to hunt flies. It kept sneaking behind the flies but the flies got away.

This one here was very very small, about 3-4mm.

Its body was still a bit transparent so I think it's still a baby. The dots on another leave were aphids.

How cute is that huh~? The best was it wasn't scared by me so I managed to take such photos. It was so fun~

Ants' round table meeting. hahahahaa...

Just a random shot. Me walking towards Jurong MRT station.

Know what this is? I discovered this while I was lying on the ground.

Magnified it. It's some kind of fungus~! Amazing!
I'm in love with our garden~!!

Nature (1)

I've always got so many photos of plants and bugs so I decided to name every post about them :"Nature" plus a number. Else I always have to think of a title.. I've got 40+ photos for this post. I separated them into 2 posts instead of one.

This is a pitcher plant. I love pitcher plant, they are just so cute. I bought one before and it died pretty fast. My bro and his friends went somewhere ulu and picked some back. But they died soon after too. My bro's friend Yong Sheng heard from my bro that I love pitcher plant and gave us one healthy little pitcher plant! HOw nice is he!
Furthermore this is a smaller species with small and round "pitfall trap", so it's very adorable.
There are dead ants in the pitfall trap.

Know what this is? This is a type of orchid. I don't know the name. The orchid that were to blossom is very tiny. There's no flower yet in this pic.

And this is a mini air plant which doesn't need soil. This is a fully grown plant, won't grow any bigger. Cute ain't it? Both the tiny orchid and this tiny air plant, were given to me by my bro's friend Yong Seng when he saw that I can't stop marvelling at the cuteness of these plants. hahaha....

Remember the grass I helped my bro planted? They've grown more, extended further out. To our horror, it's very ugly when the grass "extends" out. They look like centipededs all over the place.. It's quite scary..

LADYBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your royal cuteness - ladybird~!

Ladybird is "your royal cuteness", this one here, is "your royal ugliness". It's very very tiny, about 2-3mm long. Checkout the zoom-in photo... Click to view bigger photo.
I have no idea what insect is this but it certainly looks like a cricket. A baby cricket maybe? I saw it climbed out from the soil. It's everywhere on the soil if you look closely.

This too is very small, about 3-4mm. I guess it's either a baby grasshopper or a tiny species.

And I discovered a house lizard's dead body.

Sometimes, if you pay some attention, grass has very pretty flowers. We just never noticed as it's so small.

Magnified the flower.

My house, is in the city. But sometimes it feels like it's in a jungle or something. As creepy crawlies always found themselves into the inside of my house. This is some kind of slug, in the shower room. It's about 6-7cm.
When we just moved in, there was a big centipede in my room around 2am (got home late and just showered and saw the evil looking centipede). Couple of months ago there was an earthworm in the bath barrel.... I really hope to know how the hell did the earthworm got in there... My bro said earthworm never leaves the soil...
This caterpillar is also at least 6cm long.. Luckily my mother never saw these 2 crawlies and we got rid of them asap.

I love this photo, do you? It's very colourful~ I love our garden so much I pestered my bro and we went and bought a plastic picnic mat. For what? For me to put it on the floor so I can lie on it. I can't just lie on the grass, the grass will make my skin itchy (itchy for days!) Besides the grass, there are big ants and all sorts of insects. So I have to lay the mat on the grass and then lie on it.
That day, I put the mat under shaddy area. I lay on it on my stomach and observed what's going on among the grass. Then I lay on my back. It was hot but it was nice. I almost fell asleep if not for the stupid flies kept disturbing me.

This is also a flowering grass.

Check this out. This is a very common grass that you'll see. Magnify the photo and you'll see it's so beautiful.

When I magnified it in my camera, I was surprised to see an insect there! Can you spot it? This kind of insect often jumped onto my hands. They look like grasshopper too. Some of them are bright green and it's so adorable.

You see the flower, pretty isn't it? The insect is about 2-3mm long. This is actually a different one from above photo, also discovered accidentally when I was shooting the grass. So I guess it's quite plentiful.

Can you spot anything here? There's a spider. It's everywhere among the grass. I wonder how many I stepped on every time I walked on the grass..... poor spiders...

My cousin's wedding

Yesterday was my cousin TauHong's wedding day. It was held at Mutiara Hotel. Their service was quite good. I loved the dishes too.

Dish presentation was a girl being carried on a sedan chair... Shiok ya? being carried by four guys. hahaha..

My cousin TauHong and wife Regine. She was very pretty yesterday.

The families.

Me and my auntie and uncles.

Plus my brother. My Sony point and shoot cannot make it for indoor shots like this lah. Time to buy a DSLR. kekeke.

Lovely cute cousin of mine. He performed Michael Jackson impersonation for me and showed me his "muscles". haha.

The boy and her sister and other cousins. They are Singaporeans. Very polite bunch of kids, which are really really rare nowadays... The boy's a bit naughty but boys are boys. I love him still and the rest of the girls because they are polite and well mannered.

I've seen so many kids (and teenagers!) who won't address elderly no matter what. I just love kids who do. It's very important to be well mannered.
Wishing my cousin and his lovely wife happily ever after~
