Just watch the first half of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony. It started with 29 giant footsteps in the air made by fireworks. Very impressive, this one. The following performance, I personally didn't like it tremendously. But you have to take your hats off the Chinese people for their ability to do such things in such unison. I believe in the world, only Chinese and Japanese people can manage that. Not including maybe the Russian and North Korean army though.
In the beginning part, the Olympic symbol of 5 circles raised from the floor into the air, pretty awesome, like magic.
After that came the part of the Olympic theme song, performed by the amazing Sarah Brightman and a famous Chinese singer. Sarah Brightman dressed in a beautiful gown whereas the male Chinese singer....... T-SHIRT. Ya, t-shirt.. Gosh.... Why didn't he wear something formal??? A tuxedo or something. It's almost an eyesore seeing him standing next to the beautiful Sarah Brightman.
By the way, Sarah Brightman was really awesome. Although the song wasn't nice. This is Sarah Brightman's second performance in Olympic Games, amazing.
I looked back the passed major games opening ceremony, in particular, 1992's Barcelona Olympic and 2006's Doha Asian Games. These two are my FAVOURITES.
If I remember correctly, the 1992 Barcelona Olympic song was broadcast long before the game started. This should be the way isn't it.. Afterall the game is only 10+days. They should let people listen and learn the song. But China kept it a secret until the ceremony. They announced the singers only 1 day before the ceremony. Why the secrecy??? Everything is so secret with the Chinese. And may I say it again, the song wasn't nice at all. You hear it once and you'll totally forget it. (9th Aug Note: Ohhhh, how forgetful am I...?? I had been listening to the Beijing Olympic song over and over again on radio.. and I had been saying it wasn't nice. And I forgot about that completely..)

I love Sarah Brightman and Jose Carreras.
The lighting of the torch in the Barcelona game, was REALLY impressive. It was lighted by an arrow. Absolutely amazing. I believe watching that at that time, people must have hold their breath before the arrow fell into the cauldron.
And then there was the 2006 Doha Asian Games. I don't remember the song, was it the one sang by Jackie Cheung? Wasn't very impressive either. But the opening ceremony was EXTREMELY impressive. Especially the torch lighting part. The prince of Qatar rode on a stallion up an extremely steep ramp of 25 degrees. The horse almost slipped! as it was raining before. But the prince controlled the horse and reached the top to light the cauldron. Whew.. I remember my heart almost stopped when the horse stopped momentarily... Gosh, can you imagine the shame if the prince and the horse fail to reach the top and worse, tumble back to the ground??? Thank God that never happened. It was like watching the Arabian Night story.. A prince! On a horse! ha! Amazing. And btw, the prince is very handsome. hehe.
Beijing Olympic opening ceremony is not over yet. I am looking forward to see the lighting of the torch. But I believe Barcelona and Doha will still be my favourites.

8 million
Strangely, I had not yearn to go diving that much in recent days. We have cancelled a trip in July. I can only go diving after lunar ghost month. So that means I will have a period of 3 months without diving, not a common thing for me while it is still diving season.
Perhaps it's because I am really out of money. Fucking run out of money. Last month our trip was cancelled and I was supposed to end the month with the money intended for the trip. But, gone. Everything gone. NO more money left, shit. I don't know where I spent those money.
I NEED money (who doesn't??). I need the 8million toto money that's giving out this Friday. I need money!!!!!!!!!!!

Fridays at checkpoint
Friday was first day of lunar Ghost Month. My Malaysian colleague said he expects there won’t be that many people because of the Ghost Month. Oh, how wrong was he…
The Spore Checkpoint was soooo packed when I reached there at 7+pm. And that day, the officers fenced up and controlled the number of people going into the queues of the access card lanes. It was a good thing.. Else we always squeeze like nobody’s business in the queue.. People behind will push no matter what, especially Indian ladies. I’m sorry to say this, but they like to squeeze and push. And they like to stay close, literally, “glue” to you in the queue. Oh it was soooo fucking annoying. And I hate the body contact, no matter what race they are. I also hate other girl’s long hair have any contact with my body, Indian or Malay or Chinese. And you know how long those Indian women’s hair can be..
I was in the “safe zone” (meaning people queue nicely when closer to the lane) when the railings was knocked to the floor. Immediately it was close to chaos, everyone ran to the queue. The officers kept yelling, “DON’T PUSH!! DON’T PUSH!” But no one was obeying. Everybody just wanted to get in the queue.
I think they should place 10 Gurkhas at the fenced area to control the people.
Why can’t those people understand? If everybody queues orderly we’ll get out of there faster. But no, they want to be the FIRST to get out of there, so everybody pushed and pushed. Sooner or later there’ll be accident happens if the checkpoint officers do not do anything about it. It’s getting from bad to worse. Probably because more people have opted to stay in JB and travel everyday now, since the rent went up tremendously.
It’s just plain annoying, to go through this every week. But I have to go home, and I don’t want to go home on Sat morning. So.. can only bear with it and curse whoever that pushed me.

Ajisen
I'm really tired now. Had been doing diving video these 2 months, almost everyday after work and few hours in every weekend as well. THis week had been really tired. My eyes feel swollen.
Anyway, after nearly 2 months (gosh!), it's finally completed. Won't be uploading it soon though, have to view it with my friends first.
Just now went eat Ajisen with Gabriel. I overeat every time I go Ajisen. Half a bowl of Ajisen ramen I'm full already. But I finished almost everything, almost. And I was so full till the verge of throwing up. hahaha... it's a torture really. But it's just sooooo tasty...........

My life
My life, as of now, is all about diving.
Nowadays I don't really fancy shopping, nor go clubbing with friends, etc. Almost everything I do is about diving. When I turn on my laptop, it's all about diving. Diving news, diving forum, underwater photography forum, edit my underwater photos, edit my diving holiday video.... everything diving.
People might think I have "no life". But that's just other people. I don't care what other people think. I am ok with my life now. I am happy to be able to dive. I am very poor financially, cos I spent every cent I have on diving. I am not rich... but I am satisfied that my little money can provide my diving trips.
So, I have a life. A life about diving, and I'm happy with it.

No desire
My friends have all advised me that I should try to find a new relationship. For my own good. Ya. But I have no desire to fall in love again. Sure, it will be sweet and happy to fall in love again. But I'm tired. I'm just left with no energy to love again.
The electricity "tripped" just now. Luckily the switch is not too high up beyond my reach (managed to switch it back to normal with the help of a chair and a stick).
When there's no one around, we have to do things on our own. I managed. But I am lonely. I chose this way. Friends will say you can easily change this by open my heart again. But I do not want to. As lonely as I am, I have no desire to fall in love again. Perhaps, this is my destiny.
Some things can be changed if we try hard enough. Some things are just beyond our control. Maybe in future, one day, beyond my control, I get really sick. And that my parents might have left me. When there's no one around to care for me, I'll go somewhere no one can find me, and die there. Perhaps, no one would even try to find me except my brother. I envy those being a nurse, for they have access to those deadly drugs. Death is within seconds.
I am not thinking to die now. But I always think of ways to die. For one day, maybe I'd get really sick and I'm all alone, and I NEED to die. My brother will be there, I know. But I do not wish to bring further burden to him. He has treated me more than great this life.

Incomplete sneeze
I haven't been doing sit ups when I go to gym. On Tuesday, I did a few sets. And the next day my abs hurt. Today is the second day. It usually hurts more on the second day.
And I've been having "incomplete sneezes" today... As my abdomen muscles are quite sore, when I sneeze, it hurts, and the sneeze stops halfway abruptly... man... have you experience an incomplete sneeze? Doesn't feel good. Just like when you feel like you want to sneeze but it just won't. Horrible feeling. I tried to "squeeze" my muscles and be in control, try to sneeze "softly"... but it didn't work.... I still have incomplete sneeze.......

Yesterday while waiting for Gab to fetch me at Woodlands, an Indian stranger said to me, "Wah, you have a penguin tattoo~ YOu must be a human lover!"

I was thinking, what is a "human lover"... and I don't have a penguin tattoo. I said to him, "It's a dolphin."
He then said "Oh, sorry, dolphin. So you must be a human lover ya?" I didn't know what to answer him. First of all, did he really mean "human lover"? Secondly, I don't love human. hahaaha... I think human is ugly compare to animals. So, I don't know what to answer, I just looked at him, puzzled. He reached out his hand and said "Nice meeting you!", shook my hand and left...
He reached out his hand, if I don't take and shake his hand, it's sort of rude. I shook his hand but I was wary. I was thinking, next, perhaps he'll try to con my money... but he just said nice meeting you and left....
I think he meant "animal lover" instead of "human lover". But how can anyone mixed up these 2 words?
Why do I always encounter weird stuff? hmm... perhaps, because of "laws of attraction", I'm weird, so I attract weird stuff and people. hahaha...

My second Manado trip
Came back from another diving trip. It was soooo nice, being pampered from the beginning till the end at the resort.
***I'm definitely still in holiday mood... :( this morning I had a vivid dream of going to airport, heading for another diving holiday! ***
One lesson learnt this trip, ALWAYS, always buy travel insurance. What an experience, this trip, 4D also not so "zhun4". My flight was supposed to be at 09:25 Saturday. It didn't fly. There was a volcano erupted near Manado airport. Other airlines were flying, but perhaps SIlkair wants to be on the safe side. WHich is fine. But the staff and even the supervisor or something, did not give us satisfactory explanation and didn't handle the situation well. They said there'll be an announcement at 1pm. It never came.
My friend Sally went asked them around 1:30pm. Finally they told us it's not flying that day. The scheduled time will be at noon 12:00 the next day. But they didn't give proper explanation and everybody's temper started to get hot. The supervisor's attitude made things worse. Then he gone missing. Left the female staff to handle a whole bunch of angry passengers. So poor thing.
At the end, SIA's manager came instead. He's very professional, very good attitude, gave proper explanation. So everybody is ok after that. It's not that we're being unreasonable, we just need an acceptable explanation why the scheduled flight is 12noon the next day and not anything earlier than that (since that other airlines are flying). So we went Changi Village HOtel for a free night stay. Free dinner. Free breakfast. The stupid hotel people tried to segregate us to different area with different food than other guests but we don't see why they had to treat us differently and we insisted on having the same food. We said we'll pay and claim with airline. But in the end, they didn't charge us.
Each of our room is entitled 5min of IDD call on Silkair's bill. My friend made a 10cent local call and the staff asked her to pay for it.... ridiculous.
Anyway, in the end, we got to fly as scheduled. Thank goodness most of us have bought travel insurance, we can claim at least $400 for 24hrs of delay. At the end of the stay, the flight delay about 3 hours again. We were all hoping it will delay for one whole day. hahahahaha..... but it nvr happened.
I never thought I'd use the claim for travel insurance. But this time really did. So, buy your travel insurance, my friend.

***I'm definitely still in holiday mood... :( this morning I had a vivid dream of going to airport, heading for another diving holiday! ***
One lesson learnt this trip, ALWAYS, always buy travel insurance. What an experience, this trip, 4D also not so "zhun4". My flight was supposed to be at 09:25 Saturday. It didn't fly. There was a volcano erupted near Manado airport. Other airlines were flying, but perhaps SIlkair wants to be on the safe side. WHich is fine. But the staff and even the supervisor or something, did not give us satisfactory explanation and didn't handle the situation well. They said there'll be an announcement at 1pm. It never came.
My friend Sally went asked them around 1:30pm. Finally they told us it's not flying that day. The scheduled time will be at noon 12:00 the next day. But they didn't give proper explanation and everybody's temper started to get hot. The supervisor's attitude made things worse. Then he gone missing. Left the female staff to handle a whole bunch of angry passengers. So poor thing.
At the end, SIA's manager came instead. He's very professional, very good attitude, gave proper explanation. So everybody is ok after that. It's not that we're being unreasonable, we just need an acceptable explanation why the scheduled flight is 12noon the next day and not anything earlier than that (since that other airlines are flying). So we went Changi Village HOtel for a free night stay. Free dinner. Free breakfast. The stupid hotel people tried to segregate us to different area with different food than other guests but we don't see why they had to treat us differently and we insisted on having the same food. We said we'll pay and claim with airline. But in the end, they didn't charge us.
Each of our room is entitled 5min of IDD call on Silkair's bill. My friend made a 10cent local call and the staff asked her to pay for it.... ridiculous.
Anyway, in the end, we got to fly as scheduled. Thank goodness most of us have bought travel insurance, we can claim at least $400 for 24hrs of delay. At the end of the stay, the flight delay about 3 hours again. We were all hoping it will delay for one whole day. hahahahaha..... but it nvr happened.
I never thought I'd use the claim for travel insurance. But this time really did. So, buy your travel insurance, my friend.

My photo of the trip~~ my first pygmy seahorse~ First time I saw pygmy seahorse. I only took two shot as there are people queing to take photos. It was quite deep, can't stay too long, NDL (no decompression limit) was ticking... I was like take one photo, check my dive comp, take one photo, check my dive comp.... My point and shoot Sony T100 finally rendered me good photos. happy~
Know what I focused on in this photo? Rubbish........ I thought the stuffs in the center was the shrimp.... lookalike, isn't it??? hahaaha. sooo funny... I realised this only after I browse my photo on land.

The diving was great. Vis not so great but it was ok. It rained almost every night but day time, it was sunny. Thank God for that. Only a bit cloudy on the second last day, but we had sunshine here and there. So it was good enough.
The staffs there were soooo friendly and helpful. The dive guide is very very good. I'd definitely go this resort again if I'm going Manado again.

求签
My mother went 求签for me one day. And the 签said, I'm someone who "天塌下来当被盖"。haha... crude translation : if the sky falls on me I'll use it as blanket, hahaha.. meaning, I won't worry about anything. And my mother said its's so accurate. hahaha..
I've went 求签 twice I think. But I didn't like it. I felt funny. It felt stupid. No offense to the God, but that's how I felt. I find it hard to get the 签 out from the container. I never figured out how. I saw people did it with ease. The way I shake the container, it's just no way it's goign to come out. I tried changing the way I shake it but.. no difference. So I felt I was very stupid, kneeling there, shaking this thing for soooooo long and it's not coming out. Anyway, it's not important. Don't think I will 求签 again.
