Michelle in Wonderland

What a great adventurous day it was! Today is the first day I experienced the journey to Johor’s new checkpoint, the CIQ. What an exciting day! It’s like Alice In The Wonderland!

We must thank our government for being so considerate~!

Firstly, the road to this new CIQ is a long, winding road. The distance from Singapore checkpoint to the new CIQ is about double the distance from Singapore checkpoint to the old Johor checkpoint. Plus it is uphill. If you must walk, which is a good thing to you, I must say, you will soon have a pair of very slim legs! How exciting! Our government is so considerate! They must have noticed we Johoreans have been working too hard, coming back and forth Singapore everyday. How on earth will these people find time to exercise to improve their health? Yes! A long winding, uphill road it is! Problem solved!

Secondly, there is no pedestrian walkway. The people in charge of the design of CIQ must have noticed how dangerous the traffic is in Malaysia. How to educate people be more careful to avoid serious accidents on the road? No pedestrian walkway! What else? Without proper walkway, people will definitely be more careful as they have to share the road with motorists and cars and buses. Aren’t they sweet? Aaww……

Thirdly, can’t you see? Our government is trying to instill the mindset of “patience is virtue” to us all. Wow, such caring government, what more could we ask for? The autogates in the CIQ is not the speed of what you would expect with the technology now. It is slow. Why? Because, my friend, “patience is virtue”. Remember that. A very important lesson our government trying to teach us! Besides, the building is very beautiful, we should take time to appreciate the work, the design of this wonderful building while we wait for our turn at the autogates~ AND, because of these autogates, many people are taking books and newspapers with them and read it while patiently waiting. Our government must have seen this coming! How clever! Just recently I read that only small percentage of Malaysians have the habit of reading. And there I was, waiting for my turn, people around me reading~ Wow, government’s foresight!

Fourth but not least, since we are striving to becoming the next developed country, we must have artistic culture as well. After we passed through the autogates, we have to walk about 8minutes, through here through there, to this floor to that floor, to get to the exit to City Square. No, no, it’s not far, it is a short distance for us to learn to appreciate the artistic aspect of this building, the grandness, the design. There’s a manmade waterfall too~ Oh and the neon lights! Marvellous! The distance really isn’t far. It is also another good chance for us to use our muscles~ Come on, don’t be lazy~ even after a hard day’s work, exercise is a must! It is also good for the elderly people, they need to exercise too! I think our elderly hardly need to walk such a long distance now that most of us have cars in our homes~ And what about the pregnant women? Well, they should walk more too, and it’ll be easier for them when they are in labour~ Just have to make sure that the escalators are always in good form~ Today one of the escalators wasn’t working but I’m sure it is just a one time thingy, right~?

I really learnt a lot today. And I have become more patient. I knock off at 5:40pm, I work in the East part of Singapore. Normally, I will reach my JB home around 8pm. Today I reached at 9pm. A whole hour late. And I didn’t throw tantrum! I didn’t “black face”! I must have learnt “patience is virtue”! Oh Barisan National, I love you~ I am a die-hard BN supporter you know. In the next election, there’ll still only be BN in my eyes! No one else can replace such considerate government!

Will I end up being caught under the ISA? But I am praising the government~! I am speaking the truth ~! And I SAID I will vote for BN~! BN I love you! Thank you for a wonderful adventure today~!
