It's really crazy in the company. We're so "busy"! Next week we're gonna have a 2hours or so Latin Aerobic session. Next next week, on Tuesday we'll have our Wii competition from 3pm, on Wednesday we'll have badminton from 3pm, on Thursday we'll leave early for our movie night, the movie is at 5:30pm. So many schedules in my calendar! It's crazy! hahaha.. But I ain't complaining!! :D
I wonder what's coming up after these. But it's year end, everyone will be clearing their leaves, office will be really empty. And then it'll be CNY. Hope next year will be this busy with events too!

Singing Queen! ...amongst three
Today we have company outing, a karaoke session. It was so fun, our site manager even surprised everyone with 4 trophies and we had karaoke competition! One for best female vocal, one for best male vocal and one for best duet.
And I won best female vocal! Wohoa! but.. only 3 of us competing lah. hehehehehehe...... It was sort of due to time constraint as well. But it's so funny loh. At the age of 32, this year, this is my second trophy. ha! I got 2 trophies this year!! (the other one is this) Will I have another trophy next year, maybe? hahaha..
Oh by the way, I sang Faye Wong's Eyes On Me.
Can see my camera in the reflection....
Trophy aside, this was a really fun night. We booked 1 big room and 4 small rooms. The colleagues with me don't really sing. So I chose the songs which are commonly known and fun to sing. Like Bee Gees, Abba, and The Beetles. And everyone could sing along~
It was a really fun night. Oh, I'm repeating myself.. geez, getting old. ha!

30 children!
Roughly 30 children were in our office today! As I mentioned many times, today was the Bring Your Kids To Work day. It's real fun to meet our colleagues kids.
But honestly, I can't handle a group of children above 4 years old. I can't deal with that. It's too much for me. hahaha....
Though it was fun, it was also very tiring.... I had fun using my Sony DSLR to take their photos too. I've walked so much today, and boy, am I tired. I'm having a headache since 5pm... Seriously.
Before all of us went home, one of colleagues brought her son to toilet. Her son was still holding the paper bag that they designed for a competition for the day. I thought they were heading back home since he was holding that bag. But no, he was going to the toilet. He had refused to put down that paper bag even when he's going to toilet.... So cute right? It must be a very nice memory for him, and the rest of the kids as well. I think they had quite a good time.
Still, it is tiring. I guess no one would volunteer for this event again in future. hahaha....

Simple.happiness.
I'm starting the countdown till Chinese New Year, for the "spring wind" has started. It's so windy now. At 3pm just now, I was sitting at our (JB) garden, chilling and eating fruit and enjoying the wind. It was so nice, I'm telling ya.
Feeling the wind in my hair, watching a pair of sparrows collect dried grass back to their nest (on our roof), watching the trees sway.. insignificant as they were, these little things do make me happy.
A karaoke sessions with EK yesterday made me very happy too.Sometimes I can't believe how easy it is for me to feel happiness. Of course, one can't be happy all the time. I wish everything is all that simple, but of cos they are not. But I appreciate the times when I feel happy :)

Happy karaoke
Today Ek and I went karaoke, just the two of us. My uncle and brother said "HUH? Only two? What's the fun of it when there's only 2 people?" But it was fun~
We sang a lot of songs, in 3 and a half hours. And I still felt "not enough". I could continue to sing if we have the time. Haha~ We sang a bit of new songs (we're getting outdated with the new songs!), the songs of our generations and some real oldies, like Michael Jackson's "Ben" which EK never even heard of cos this song is old! It was sung by Michael when he's about 12 yrs old. It's nearly 40 years old! Yet it still sounds so great. Every song of Michael still sounds great. And a lot of Michael's songs are in the popular list!! We sang a few more, like Heal The World.
We even sang Linkin Park's Numb~! It was a real fun time, we had a lot of laughs~ It was just great~

Bodyworld
I went to see the Body Worlds Exhibition with my friend Jessie. It's really funny how I ended up going to this exhibition.
One day Jessie asked if I want to visit this exhibition about human body at Science Centre. She wasn't sure the exhibition name in English so I couldn't look it up on the net. I went to Science Ctr website but I didn't really see it. It actually has a website of its own but I didn't know then. And I have never heard of this exhibition. Neither have I saw it in newspaper nor tv.
But, not many friends enjoy going to see (any) exhibitions, thus I was thinking, since someone asked me to go for an exhibition, I should just grab the opportunity and just go, whatever the exhibition is. hahahaha..... So I said ok, let's go.
Days later I saw it on tv, I was busy with other things, I didn't read indepth about this exhibition. I just went to the website and purchased tickets as it's got discounts if book online then. When I went home, I told my bro I was going to see this exhibition. My brother said "Disgusting." or something like that. I was like, "Huh?? What? What is disgusting? Just an exhibition."
The thing was, I did not know it's an exhibition of real human bodies. I thought it's just wax figures. So my bro said "Yalah, real human bodies." I got absolutely excited when I heard that, "OH REALLY???! GREAT! I LIKE!" hahaha....................
So I went with Jessie and her sister-in-law. The plastinates looked plastic. So, you really don't feel disgusted by it. They looked like they are still wet. You have to keep reminding yourself that those, those are real human being. It's really amazing, how they preserved the bodies and arranged in such aesthetical ways.
I looked into the eyes of the plastinates, and reminded myself, this is a real person's eyes, that once were gleaming with life too. It's a really strange feeling. It's hard to describe, how I felt when I was standing there, looking at dead people in all sorts of postures. And I respect these people. They donated their bodies. Even though once we died, we wouldn't know, but the thought of having your own body being cut and dissected and exposed like that, is not something people will be willing to even think about, especially for Asians. Will I one day be the one who is willing to donate my body? I don't think so. I want my body to be cremated and my ashes be sprinkled into the sea.
There was also a squid, octopus, deers, a horse and a giraffe. The horse was humongous!! Gosh... I never knew a horse can be that big. Those in the zoo, I know they are ponies, but still I never knew a horse is THAT big.......... It's scary... Looks like a dinosaur of some sort. The giraffe was huge too! And really tall. Why is it I didn't really feel anything special about giraffe when I saw it at the zoo...??? Perhaps cos we're viewing the giraffes (at the zoo) on a high rise platform...
Everyone should go and see this exhibition. It's fantastic!

Fun filled week ahead?
Oh next week is going to be a "busy" work week. I said "busy", cos.. it's not all work.
Monday will be our Bring Your Kids To Work day. As I'm one of the committees, will be running here and there. It's a whole day event. We have 30kids from 4-15 yrs old coming! I'm supposed to take photos too. I'm going to bring my DSLR and also my point and shoot... Just in case I couldn't figure out the DSLR. hahaha... I hope I won't need to resort to my point and shoot!
And then Tuesday will be our Safety Day. There will be talks about safety or something by AIA people. There'll be "CPR competition". I want to join this. haha. And we get free foot massage too. I have never tried foot massage... in fact, I have NEVER tried ANY massage cos I don't really fancy it. I believe I will stop the masseur after 1 minute (bcos of the pain). hahahah...
Wed evening is karaoke event. We'll probably leave office after 4pm. Can't wait to sing with my colleagues!
Thursday will be normal working days and Friday is a public holiday! So happy! Finally a public holiday!! Hooray!!

Colourful corns!
My brother planted some different corns. It's very small, and it looks quite different from the ones we eat. It's really really bright colour. This is the yellow one.
Look at this! A red corn!! I didn't know there's red corn! My bro said he also planted black ones.
Close up. Seriously, this is a corn, not palm fruit or whatever.
The colours are really pretty.
Will show the black corn if we have it!

My work station
Few weeks back, attended First Aid Course sponsored by company. Should have brought my camera there. This was taken by my mobile phone. These are the "victims". Luckily I volunteered to be the victim one task before this. This looks really ugly. hahaha.
Now, my workstation, this is my cubicle.
Bought some plants to decorate my workstation.
I like this plant because it looks like it's got red veins.
Look at the tiny leaves, so cute.
This is my cactus "baby" from JB. It's so weird, because its "brother and sister" growing differently from this.
Over one particular weekend, it suddenly grow this much! Seriously, it wasn't growing at lot before this. One Monday I came back to work, I had a shock!
This was over another weekend, that means after 2 weeks, it has grown "up" 1cm! Its "brother and sister" are growing side and outwards, but not "upwards"... Bro said air-cond room is ideal for cactus. I thought cactus needs a lot of sun.....
Decorated my cubicle with a little Christmas tree~ Bought these from Daiso, tree $2, decoration balls $2, little Santas $2, total $6. So cute, right?
And! My KING - Michael. Angel bought me this magnet. I stick it on my partition so I can look at him everyday :)

Another letter to Reader's Digest
I subscribed to Discovery Magazine last year. Little did I know that it is a magazine managed under Reader's Digest. If I KNEW, I would NEVER have subscribed it. NEVER. I would rather go to bookstore to buy it every month, because I loathe Reader's Digest. As I mentioned before, I hate their marketing tactic, telling you you have won RMxxx,xxx.00 in their every mail.
My subscription started from Aug 08. In March 2009, the book dealer's(I think not directly from Reader's Digest) staff called me and told me my subscription is going to expire soon and asked if I want to renew. I was like ...????? It was March! My subscription is supposed to end in Aug 09!!! I told him : No. And I don't intend to renew it at all since RD started bombarding me with their stupid mails.
Today I received the magazine and in it, the usual "you can win RMxxx,xxx.00" letter and also a part asking me to pay for the renewal. I am really pissed. So, I wrote them an email :
My name is Ng Wei Li. I received a letter from RD asking me to pay RM149 to renew my subscription of Discovery Magazine. In your letter it was stated "A few weeks ago, with your last issue of Discovery Channel Magazine, I wrote to remind you that your subscription to the magazine would be continued as promised for a further year..." .
I received no such letter. There was no letter enclosed with the magazine.
Previously a staff from Transforma Sdn Bhd has called me and asked if I'd like to continue my subscription and I gave him a clear answer : no. It should therefore be rightly considered that I am stopping my subscription after the last issue of my 1 year subscription. I had never agreed that "my subscription be continued unless instructed otherwise".
I DO NOT wish to continue my subscription for Discovery Magazine. Please cancel my subscription immediately. Should you want me to return the magazine I just received I would be more than happy to do so.
Ironically, RD's email address is : friends@rdasia.com.my. I ain't wanna be no friends with Reader's Digest, I'm telling ya.
Just last week or so, I discovered a new magazine, published in Singapore but it's under BBC. It's called "Knowledge". I'd be much happier to subscribe to this instead. It's a pity that Discovery Magazine is published under Reader's Digest, such a pity.

Happy 2 months!
How time flies! I have worked in this new company for over 2 months and 2 happy months those were! I hope there'll be many many many happy months ahead!!
I've just joined here 2 months, and there had been so many activities and courses. I feel like a frog that's just came out of a well.. so this is how it feels to work in a big and people-oriented company!! It feels great!!
So far, I have attended Business Writing course, Defensive Driving course, First Aid course. And we've had Mentoring session at Hilton. And we've had bowling, badminton session. And we're playing Wii during lunch time. I'm one of the organizer, we're going to have Wii competition in the company. And we're gonna have Bring Your Kids To Work day, it's a full day event. And we're gonna have another development workshop at Botanic Garden. My colleague said, so many events and courses and workshops.. there's not enough time to work! ahahahahahha.....
Most important thing other than these "extra benefits" is, I like my job functions. My superiors and most colleagues are nice. There's nothing more I can ask for.
Happy!!
