Yet another family member!

Not long after my post about Welcome A New Family Member, I have added yet another new member to the family~!

She is the mini of Pinkie~! How can I resist?? It was actually something that was sold over Christmas. And there left only 2, half price. It comes with a small pink blanket, very tiny one, not enough to cover my body. They have slightly different material. I prefer Pinkie's one however I still could not resist buying PinkieMini. Cos I can then bring PinkieMini to holiday with me~! The size is just right! But of course I still like my Pooh baby, as well as other members of the family of course~ I bring Pooh baby along in my coming diving trip. Then it'll be PinkieMini's turn next time. Isn't it exciting~? So many family members~ hahahaha~~

Grandfather

Life's so boring. Feel down lately. Don't feel like doing anything at all. Anything, except Harry Potter books and movies. It's nice to immerse in fairy tales, fantasies, but not good to "forget to live".

Since Harry POtter 7's been out on 21st July, I think I've re-read the book 5 times. And while nothing interesting is on tv, I play Harry Potter movie. I must have watched Harry Potter movie 1 and 2 for over 50 times. hahahahaha.............

Dumbledore reminds me of "grandfather", his white hair. I really like to have a grandfather you know. My paternal grandfather died when my dad was still a kid. My maternal grandfather died when I was 5 or so. I remember him vividly. I loved visiting my grandpa when I was little. sigh... I have always longed to have a grandpa, or should I say, long to still have a grandpa.

I saw an old man at my block, he has very white hair and his eyebrows... man I tell you, his eyebrows are exactly like those 武侠电影's "shifu"... very bushy, very long, completely white eyebrows. Really grow and extend out from the face type leh... wah... and he has long beard too. If only I have a grandpa like that.................. sigh... day dreaming again.....

Speaking of dream, I dreamt that my Spore house (er, I don't exactly own any house anywhere) is built on the sea! and its opposite is the Intergrated Resort~! hahahaha... it felt amazing looking out from my door.. man................. if only it's real.....

What a coincidence!

The other day I was having dinner at a food court. There was one family in front of me. I kept looking at them because ehm, I thought, the guy's lips were rather, ehm, unflattering. His sister has the exact same lips. I kept looking and looking.

Then the next day, I watched a programme on Channel U. It was a show telling true story about how people turning a new leaf. And guess what, that man I saw, that man I kept looking at his lips, was the actor in that show! How amazing is that? What are the chances of such thing happening?? I was sure he was the actor cos, I had looked at him for a long time....

Simply amazing. This is just like you are having a holiday across the other half of the globe and running into one of your friends~ It does happen! It's just unbelievable how these things happen..

Magic~

Guess what, I've been immersed myself in Harry Potter books, Harry Potter movies, Harry Potter books, Harry Potter movies recently. Hoping to dream about Harry Potter related things, or have magical dreams.

All I did over the weekends in JB was watching Harry POtter movies again and again, read the books again and again. I brought in one of the books and DVD back to Sg, when there was no interesting programme on tv, I'll just play HP movie. The last Sunday, all SG tv channels were broadcasting Lee Sian Long's the national rally. For so long! So many hours! So I played HP movie instead, when the first movie finished, Lee Sian Long was still talking. So I played another movie, and then I just let it played from the beginning when it fnished until right before I tucked in.

I had watched these movie countless times, so then I read HP 6th book while the tv plays HP movie. I just want everything to be Harry Potter. haha! You will think I am crazy. And... I AM crazy.

And guess what, I had a magical dream on Sunday night! It was Harry Potter related. I knew I could make myself to dream of this~~ I still remember the dream when I was half awoke half asleep in the morning. I was soooo happy. But when I woke up, I can't remember the dream anymore. What a pity....

I am still immersing myself in everything HP. I hope I will have magical dreams again. hahaaaa~~

Ghost month

It's lunar 7th month, the Ghost Month again.

Don't you just love the Ghost Month? It's like Halloween, only that it is one month long instead of one day.

I am quite fond of Ghost Month. I love the smell emits from the burning of incense papers, hell money, as described in Wikipedia. I think it smells really nice. And the smell of it brings back old time memories. Every year I helped my mother arranging all the paper cloths(for the ghost to make clothes), ready made paper clothes, hell money and all sort of other things. We burnt and arranged incense sticks around the house, arranged the paper stuffs on the floor, in front of the house, then burn.

It's been a few years I haven't help me mum. Cos I am now working in Spore and the days that we are supposed to burn the incense papers are always on weekdays...

In this month, almost every where we go we can smell the burning of incense papers. The smell of it only reminds me of two things, Ghost MOnth and CHinese New Year. And forgive me for saying one more time, I love that smell.

I used to be very scared of going back home after dark during this month. That was when I was in sec school. Now Ghost Month to me is just like any other month, only that it, "smells different". One thing I don't like is my mother forbids me to go diving in this month. But lots of my diving kakis are also the same. So it doesn't matter a lot.

This morning the radio was talking about reducing the burning of incense paper for conservation. A suggestion in Taiwan calls people to donate money online instead and send the receipt to monks and let them do the ceremony at one go. A caller said we cannot reduce it. It's our tradition and if we don't burn the hell money, how are the dead going to receive it? And one suggested that we burn cheque instead. We can write many zeros.. as many as we like, hehe.. and we then only need to burn one paper, won't pollute the air. ha! That's a good one :p

Welcome a new family member~

I want to welcome a new member to my family~


Pooh (boh?) baby~
Look! He can sit on my lap~! But he doesn't look very happy, does he?

So I let him sit on the table. Oh look~ he smiles~

Trying to cheer him up more, I held him up high on my palm~ he can sit still on my palm~~! He still doesn't look happy...

So I held him up higher~ Look~ he smiles again~~

I introduced him to some of the family members. First, Piggy~ Piggy has not taken a bath and beginning to look ehm.. a bit untidy..

And Pinky~ Look they look really nice together, don't they? I think Pooh baby feels happy in his new home now ;)
Pooh baby is really sweet and soft. Extremely extremely soft. He is slightly bigger than Piggy and slightly smaller than Pinky, which is the perfect size for travelling! I will bring him with him to my next Tioman trip. wahaa~

Insect repellant

I am very the "boliao" loh... Nothing better to do so I want to intro a product here. hehe..

Now with all the dengue cases, it's important to protect yourself. The other day I saw a mosquito in my room (quite rare for this to happen, I stay on 8th floor). I wanted to kill it but failed. I was pretty "kan chiong" about it so I quickly got out my insect repellant and sprayed on myself.

I used to use the orange colour packaging OFF! But its smell is soooo.... damn strong man. It's a sweet smell but it's way too strong. Every time I smell it I will choke.... I guess they have to put it this strong to cover the typical pungent smell of most insect repellent. This OFF! has got 2 sizes however even the small bottle is considered too big by me. It's almost bigger than a 500ml mineral water bottle. Imagine taking that on a holiday. Then they came out with a tiny little bottle one (about 8cm tall) and I thought that size was wonderful. So I had been using that ever since.

But recently the smal bottle is going to finish soon. And I saw this :
It's about palm size big, not a perfect size but it's acceptable. So I bought this and I like it a lot. It doesn't have very strong, typcical insect repellant's pungent smell like most brands, and doesn't have very strong sweet smell like OFF! Wonderful~ You should try it too~!

p.s. I don't get paid for this... too bad...

Octopus!

I had a really long dream yesterday.

I actually dreamt we’re attending our friend, Steven’s wedding! Hahaha.. but didn’t see the bride though... Steven gave us his wedding photos which er…were not exactly wedding photos… there were many people in the photos. And the photos were poster size~! And Steven has more hair in my dream than in real life. hehehe….

Steven hired some professional divers for his wedding, to do some stunts or whatever. The thing is, the place of the wedding is a diving destiny. By the way, the wedding was like a school Monday morning briefing… we were sitting on staircases waiting to hear speech...

Anyway, the next day after we attended the wedding we were preparing for diving. Hehe… shiok if it’s a real thing. Diving after attending a wedding, how cool is that. Maybe if one day I get to marry a millionaire, I’ll do just that. Ha! Dreaming…

And so, we were preparing to dive. The ocean is just right outside my resort room. I looked down into the ocean, OH MY GOSH! Octopus! One, two, no… big ones, very big ones and oh my God… there were dozens of them!! Geesh.. I was thinking how are we going to dive with all these octopuses around… I mean, one or two small ones is fun… but dozens.. and they were big… it’s dangerous to dive with big octopus… For they are damn strong and may I remind all, they have 8 tentacles full of strong suckers…

Then I went to see other people. Then some angmoh girls were screaming and looking at my toilet. And guess what, a huge HUGE octopus was crawling out of the toilet!! GOSH!!!

Somehow, I ignored that and went to look for my diving friends. A few divers were in the water. BUT! I saw quite a few snake like fish, or eels rather, in the sea. They were HUGE!! They were yellow/white like albino python. Their posture were like the ehm,like in cartoons when the Indian play his flute and the snake will stand and look at him, the eels were standing like that. They were all looking at our boat and the divers but wasn’t moving much. GOSH! It was so scary! I had decided I was not going into the water with all these creatures around! I was yelling at the divers and asked them to get out of the water.

I then heard people said those eels were only guarding that ocean. Somebody died there, somebody important. Or he was buried in that part of ocean or something like that. So the eels were the guardians.

Ehm, then my dream ended. Quite an interesting dream~ happy~ heheh…

Miko hates the broom

Miko hates it when I put the mini broom in her "basement" - her hide out when she's out of her cage.

She will pull and drag the broom out of her "basement", the further the better she thinks. It's so cute~~

Aur July 2007

My 猪猪看世界... haha...

This was taken on the speed ferry. My Sony T100 somehow rendered the picture much bluer than what it really is...

This is Pulau Aur. I was there on 28th weekend thanks to my big sister Jean~~

I couldn't sleep at night in the resort due to too many "stereos", left, right and below. hahaha... So I came out at 3:30am and slept on the beach chair. Heaven, it was~ hehe... for it was really really quiet out there. Looking at the cloudy night sky and slept under the moon~~ 别有一番风味~~ I quite like it actually. Thank goodness it wasn't very cold. Only thing is the chair is really hard loh, I managed to fall asleep quite fast but when I woke up I almost couldn't feel my butt loh... Stupid me left my sleeping bag in the diving boat...
This is the boat we used. Water was very calm, but it was damn cold, for it had rained for a week. And it rained intermittently while we're there as well.

The inquisitive lone batfish. It was sooo cute, followed us for a longggg time... It's just amazing how these fish will come and check us out. I chased it a little, trying to touch it, since it was so close... but of course, it is a fish, I am just a human with stupid fins, couldn't catch up with it.

A lone barracuda. Magnificent, look at the stripes on its body. This photo was heavily edited... hence the unnatural colour... Camera's internal flash is useless at this distance.

A very pretty nudibranch. Don't know its name...


This kitten is just so adorable~~~~ we couldn't get tired of her. I heard she's about 2 months old, the most playful period. It will play with anything and everything~

I regret i didn't go with a lower angle for this pic. It'll look better if I go lower.

Camera couldn't focus on the translucent, jelly-like creature... I didn't know what this is, jellyfish-like colonial creature I supposed. Didn't know whether it stings.. I was wearing a glove so I played with it, it's really cute. I guess it doesn't sting. If it does, the nematocyst will probably left on my glove and sting me when my bare hand touch the glove. I had neglected this possibility though...
