This is what happened to a friend's colleague.
This lady was corresponding with a Japanese counterpart via email and she couldn't understand what he was saying in the mail. After several emails back and forth she finally understood and she probably was elated and she replied :
"Oh! I catched your ball now!"
...........................................................
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA...........
I do not know if that Japanese knows there is another thing which the word "ball" refers to.. (*!*! for those who don't know, it also means "testicles"!) If he does know, that will be the biggest joke in his career!!!!!
She should have said "Oh I catched the ball now.". but can someone tell me is it proper English? Cos I had thought it was translated from HOkkien... (liak bo kiu)

Well, it's certainly not "proper English". There are many ways of saying the same thing. The simplest way is to say "Now, I understand what you're saying, Thank you!".

ehm, "catch no ball".. means like "don't get it", "don't understand what ppl talking about".
