One week at new job

Wah, I have 666posts (excluding this one) in my blog now. That's devil's number. kekeke...

I have started working at my new company for a week now. It had been a really pleasant first week. I mainly have to make travel arrangements for the marketing team. They have quite a lot of trips and changes are frequent... so I really have to make sure I check and re-check everything... Time passes really fast in this job. It feels like I only work 6 hours.

I quite enjoy this job, so far. The working environment there is about the same with my previous company - very peaceful. It's the kind of company I would want to work for a long time. Hopefully I will :) I really don't like to change jobs.

Food for thought

It would seem, it's better to "force your wife to be prostitute" than "to drink beer (for Muslim)" in Malaysia. Look what Raja Petra Kamaruddin said : "So, there we have it. RM5,000 fine or imprisonment of 3 years and 6 lashes for consuming alcohol. And RM4,000 fine or imprisonment of 2 years and 6 lashes for forcing one's wife to be a prostitute!"

Read it all here : http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/26170/84/ Very insightful, very funny and most important of all, very true.

I really like this Raja Petra Kamaruddin. I just hope he won't end up being caught and send to prison again. Well, if he did, maybe one day he'd be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize huh? But I sure hope he will not end up in prison. How about, he becoming our PM? hehehe..

dilemma of short legs

Today's one fine day. My 3rd day at work's not bad at all. Plus, today I saw a hunk~ hehe. He's so cute. He was in the office for orientation, so we went through the session together. He has Alex To 杜德伟's kind of eyes. He speaks excellent English. He's from KL but his accent is a bit like angmoh. He actually studied in private school and then university in Singapore. Too bad he works in the plant in Jurong, not the main office. So this might just be the only one time I ever get to see him. hehe. Anyway... he's a lot younger than me.

Took express bus back to Toa Payoh instead of MRT today. It was only 5-10minutes slower than the train. Oh, but if I take the train, I still need to take feeder bus. So it comes up the same. PROVIDED no accident on PIE. It's more expensive to take this express bus... but.. peak hours in the train, very crowded and there's no empty seats most of the time. I am just too tired to stand for 45min.

I think I will take the bus instead of MRT to work too. I actually will get places to sit in the train, in the morning. But, since years before, I get headache and felt so horrible if I have to take long rides in the train, early in the morning. I guess because you have to sit and hold your body up right. Whereas in the bus you can just comfortable lean over to the window pane or things like that. And you know what... I am just too short for the train lahhhhhhhhh. My legs are just so short and I can't comfortably sit there without fidgeting. Because ah... my legs can't really touch the floor if I don't wear high heels. kekekeke. laugh... go ahead and laugh.. hehehe... If I want to sit comfortably like those ppl who have long legs, I need a high heel that is 3 inches tall. And it makes your feet tired easily with 3 inches high heels so I mostly have heels of 2inches only... AND besides that, girls have to hold the legs together.. else people opposite might see your underwear... when my legs not long enough.. it's an effort to hold them together tightly. Aiya....... you tall people won't understand de lah. kekekee.

Whereas in the bus, you can sit with your legs wide open and nobody will see. Of course I'm not talking about those seats which face each other lah. So... I guess I'll just have to pay more and take the bus instead... I really hate the tiredness and headache after I sat in the train for more than 30mins early in the morning.............

Dead tired

I'm dead tired today. Second day of work at new company. New environment, needs time to get used to. My whole body aching here and there. I was so tired until I can hardly speak when Gab fetched me to gym.

I want to sleep now. But my chin had to chose today, to throw her "tantrum" and refused to go back to her cage. I can't sleep until she does.......

Dobby the hamster

Several months ago, my brother was doing gardenign and he thought he had saw a giant worm. It turned out to be a....

Hamster!! I had an empty hamster cage, brought back from Sg (my original 2 hamsters had passed away). So he caught the hamster and put in that cage. Wonder was it the hamster ran away or the owner got tired with it and let it go.
Whatever it is, I was happy to have it. I named it : Dobby, after the character in Harry Potter. It looks big in this pic but Dobby is about 6-7cm long. I have small hands, so it looked really big.

Dobby is really cute because it (I don't know is it a he or she) doesn't really bite, unless you frighten it by suddenly putting your hand to it.

Dobby sleeps in the funniest way. It likes to squeeze between the bars and the running wheel and also it had to bite the bar while it sleeps. haha. My Miko (the chinchilla) also likes to squeeze between 2 walls. Guess all rodents are like that.
I thought it's really sad to keep Dobby in the cage all day long. So I let it out a while, well, just a minute or two.. as I'm afraid I might lose it. Dobby can run quite fast. So here it is, Dobby in the garden.
At first it was hesitant, after a while, it started to run really fast.

Isn't it cute??

Its eyes gave me a feeling that it constantly looking upwards...

I thought I should make a harness and tie on Dobby so that it won't run away and so it can be outdoor for longer... but it proved to be difficult.. hehe.

Happy as it is

Went out with Natasha today, to watch G.I. Joe. YY was supposed to be there too. She was supposed to meet us around noon. But she had only just woken up in Singapore's house at noon! hahahaa......

So, only Natasha and me for lunch then. We went Secret Recipe. I love their food. Actually I really wished I could have sashimi for lunch. But the Japanese restaurant-Kinsahi there, is very expensive (sashimi wise, set lunch still ok) and not worth the money. Me nowadays, everyday crave for sashimi and wasabi. haha.
G.I. Joe was really nice! Nearly 2 full hours of action! I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole time~

After the movie Natasha and I went for a drink. Her hot chocolate was too thick...

I like what's printed on the sugar/creamer package :

Natasha and I chatted about friends, boyfriends, etc. Not my boyfriend, of course. I don't have one at the moment. I said to Natasha, even though I don't have a boyfriend at this moment, I am quite happy with my life now. Happy as it is. I'm NOT saying "Oh, who needs a man?" that sort of thing. Who doesn't wish to be loved? I'm just saying, I have learnt to live happily with the things I have, with the life I'm living, at this point in my life. Go out with old time friends once a while, go exercising, reading books that I'm interested, making videos, taking photos in everyday life (especially photos of bugs!),writing blogs, etc, these make me happy.

And no matter how many people are reading my blog, I just enjoy the writing part. So I keep writing. Even simple things as reading news online, I feel happy doing it, as I feel that I'm gaining knowledge.

The only thing that's not so happy is my father's health. I wish he'd live happier and healthier. But people get old, that's the course of nature. No one can denies the law of nature. I just wish he lives everyday happy.

Anyway, I was happy of an outing with Natasha today. It always is very enjoyable going out with her. Next outing should be going karaoke with Yoke Teng. Looking forward to it!

Second last day in Shonan

Today is my second last day in my current company-Shonan. My manager brought me and Phyllis (the girl who is replacing me) for lunch at the Japanese Restaurant at Goodwood Park Hotel. The sashimi was soooo fresh and nice. Yummy! And my manager said their wasabi is grind from actual sashimi and not processed ones from bottle. It's not as "hot" as the normal ones I've ate. It was very fragrant, I kept "eating" the wasabi. I quite 不舍得my manager. He was a nice person and very humorous~
I forgot to take a pic of the food. Damn.

After work, went out with Phyllis and Jessie. We went to the new ION at Orchard Central. Actually, what is this new "Orchard Central" thing huh?

Phyllis bought me this blue dress! And another black/purple dress and a very nice organiser. She bought me these to thank me for teaching her things. How touched!! I have never really wore like this to work before. Not that I don't like such dress but my office is too warm to wear like this. Today I had been complaining that it's too hot from morning till evening.....

We kept taking photos.

There were shadows on the blue ceiling that mimics fish and turtles. Quite pretty really.

The washroom in ION is really really really nice! The best so far in all the shopping malls I went~

We even took photos in the washroom.
I like its big big mirror~ Unlike the one in Wisma Atria, it's so high up that I can't see!!!! Discrimination!!
There's a hand towel dispenser between 2 washing basins. Below it is dustbin. How convenient right?

And for each washing basin, there's a hand dryer.

This mirror in the centre is rotatable. Notice there's a toilet attendant there! Like a high class hotel toilet! Impressive!

We had fun in the washroom. hahahaha...

PC Fair Aug 09

Got so many things from PC Fair JB last Sat~~ so happy. Got lots of cheap and pretty and cute USB fan. I bought 2 USB lights (to use in SG room, too dark to read), bought a portable hardisk. My bro bought a printer.
And we were sort of "forced" into signing up for credit cards. We didn't have to pay for anything of course. Everytime we go there for any exhibition or whatever we will sort of be forced to sign up credit cards. The guy asked if I have a bank account, I said no, not in JB. I don't have savings, so... no money to put in bank. He asked me to do him a favour and open an account in the bank with only RM25, for the credit card approval or something. I said ok. But I heck care once I got my free gifts. wahahaha.. bcos I didn't ask to be given the credit card.

Judging a book?

I, like so many others, tend to commit the "crime" of judging a book by its cover. I always tell myself it's not nice and to avoid doing so. But being a human myself, it's hard to be completely neutral when you see something or someone.

It's an art to practise not judging a book by its cover. I'm still in the midst of learning it.
