Fainted in the Train

This morning in the train, I was sitting at the last seat in the last car. I was leaning against the side and sleeping. 30minutes later, all of a sudden, I felt hot. It was so hot that it made me giddy. It was unusual. I almost wanted to ask the lady next to me whether she feels it's hot too... But I didn't.

I took out my medication oil and apply under my nose. It only made me feels slightly better. But my head continued to spin. I thought it was probably low blood sugar, took out a candy and popped into my mouth. It didn't help.

Again I applied the oil and apply on the sides of my forehead. I was feeling really sick now and was sweating profusely, cold sweat. It's only about 3, 4 minutes the most. I guess it was at this point, I fainted. When I started feeling light headed I wonder if I do faint, how I would faint..? because I was sitting. Do I just collapse against the side? I had my answer.

The next thing I know, I was in a kneeling position, leaning to the side. I guess it's lucky that I chose that last seat, else I would have lied on the floor already. I don't know how much time passes after I blacked out. I guess only couple of seconds..? People were helping up to sit back on my seat. But no one asked am I ok. Perhaps they thought I had fallen asleep and fell off my seat. hahaha..... That would be so humilliating. But I guess people can tell, as I was rubbing the oil to my nose. And after I gained consciousness I was sweating even more profusely. It was as though I've been running for 30minutes. It was THAT bad.

I was still giddy and almost fainted again. But I "tahan"... I worried about my skirt... I will explain why below... But I had no strength to think more about that and soon I forgot about it.

Aftr I alighted I was ok... I called my colleague and asked her what time does the clinic opens. Soon she and another colleague joined me and we got onto our bus to office.

So coincidentally.... our panel doctor wasn't in clinic until after noon time... So lunch time I went IMM to shop around in Daiso. After I came back I went to see the doc. Nothing was abnormal. Blood pressure normal, blood sugar normal. Doc said there can be no reason. I would know. Because it did happen to me before. Usually I would faint if I hv been standing for too long. But there was once I fainted for no reason too.

So, half a day passed. Little did I know.......... my dress.... it's a satin-like dress... It will leave a mark even when water splashes onto it. And my worried had been proven true.

I was sweating so much, my whole body was wet. And I don't mean "damp", I mean "WET". So, my dress got wet too. Especially the place where I put my buttock onto the seat. That means buttock area of course and my thigh. AND.............. the "wetted" spot... doesn't go away after it's dried. It did not look wet anymore when it's dried but it does leave a mark. And I've been walking around half a day without realising I looked like I've pssed on my dress..........!!

My colleague who was with me in the morning noticed the mark but she thought it will go away once it's dried. That was few minutes after I alighted from the train. Imagine how my dress woud look like, how wet it was, when I just get off the train?! Goshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........... I cannot wear that dress in near future anymore to prevent people from recognising me.......

Gosh..... so embarrasing............. What a day.....

Girls' new hairstyles~

Angel and I had our hair permed today~ I was just getting it permed of about the same style as last year. Only that it's a whole head perm. But it doesn't really look much difference with the perm last year.

Angel's new hairstyle doesn't come easy, it came only after a 7hours sitting at the salon's chair. hahaha.....She had her hair permed and coloured. Her hair is really black and thick so it took much longer to perm and colour. When I have my hairdo all done she was just about to have it wash off the first chemical (before the curling)!! Really "broke record"... 7hours... Mine was done in 3.5hours... Double the time! hahaha.. but I didn't colour my hair. However, the wait was worth it. Her new hairstyle is quite nice! More mature (that's what we two wanted) and feminine.
I bought french fries for both of us after my hairdo was done at about 4pm. I like my stylist so much I even bought puffs for him and his colleagues. :p

We were famished when her hair was finally done. We went Yew's Cafe for dinner.

My dinner, escargot spaghetti. It was pretty good~
That's all for now, folks!

Around Christmas

As I mentioned in previous post, Angel and I went Orchard to see Soweto Gospel Choir performance at Esplanade. And I said I wanted to post some photos of us with the performers. Here they are :

He squated a little to "suit" our height..............

There were only male performers there, no female performers were in sight. I watched their videos in Youtube. They are really good. The Soweto Gospel Choir backuped for Wall-E song which was nominated for best song at the Academy Award. And they performed at the Academy Award with the lead singer for that song. I don't know who that guy was.

Before the concert we went photo taking. This was inside a christmas tree outside ION. I like the feel of these 3 pictures, kind of editorial, don't you think?

Angel was quite creative with posing.

Louis Vuitton. A shop I never entered and probably never will.

Another shop which I probably will never enter as well - Prada.

My hero~!!!!!!!!!! Wish I can have this on my wall~

We went for tea break. I realised these few days I ate a lot................... Shit...........

At Esplanade~ During intermission of the performance. Was trying to capture the lights from the building in the background.
What do you think of the photos?

Soweto - African Spirit (choir)

I'm so happy~~!! :D Watched 2 great shows in 2 consecutive nights : Avatar and Soweto - African Spirit (choir)!

This was the first time ever I watched a concert at Esplanade~ The concert hall is really beautiful. I am really really surprised that an African choir performance would sold out in Singapore. And a lot of the audience were elderly. I am really really surprised.

Everyone enjoyed the show a lot~! Audiences were very spontaneous, giving a lot of claps with the rhythm, prompting the performer to say "You are such fantastic audience!" But I believe this has to do with the fact that there were a lot of Caucasians in the audience. Otherwise audience's response would be very cold, given that Asians are really shy.

We took photos with the performers after the show ended. I will upload photos tomorrow. Too tired now. I would have enjoyed the show A LOT more had I not been so "drugged"... been popping flu pills and it didn't help at all and I kept sneezing and sneezing. Luckily during the show, I only sneezed towards the end of it.

There were CDs and DVDs being sold. I regretted that I didn't buy the CD, since I really like African music. But then again, I don't have much of a choice really.... I am very tight with money... It's only $25 for the CD. But when you've got nothing much left, $25 is a lot. I have to think whether I'll have enough money for the month or not. Sigh... when can I the kind of salary that I wouldn't have to "struggle" to buy a $25 CD as if I'm buying a $250 item??....

Anyway, the performance was well received by the audience. Everyone shook hand with the performers who were outside the concert hall after the show ended. Funny that no one female performer was there.

I hope they come again! :D

Avatar 3D!!!!

Avatar 3D, is the coolest, most amazing, most unbelievable, most beautiful movie I have EVER watched in my 32 years of life!!!!!!!

Seriously!!!!! It's action packed! It kept my heart beating fast! It's breathtakingly beautiful! The story is touching! It's romantic! It's... everything!! The romance is just nice, I don't like movie to be full of romance and mushy mushy talks. In Avatar, it's just nice, just the right amount of romance. Everything is so beautiful. Seriously, EVERYTHING!!

I was hoping the movie wouldn't end... I'm telling ya, I have never been this excited and happy after watching a movie. I mean, ya, was so happy after I watched Johnny Depp's Public Enemy but this is different! Public Enemy, it's all about Johnny's charm. This, Avatar, is the whole thing, is just... PERFECT. I can't find other words to describe. I was so happy that I smiled with my mouth wide open all the way back home!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't mind to watch the movie 10 times!

Ohhh I think I'm in love... with the fictional main character. hahaha.

Dinosaur

SIngapore Bird Park is advertising about dinosaur. They have fake dinosaurs (duh.. of course it's fake but I can't say "they have dinosaurs" bcos they can't) somewhere in the park. I saw the commercial.

So yesterday night I dreamt that people are at risk of being attacked and eaten by dinosaurs, real dinosaurs.... It was quite scary. We were afraid to go out. We have to look 360degrees when we go out in search for... er.. food or something. We had to becareful not to turn into food ourself.. for the dinosaurs.

THis is the second time I dreamt I was chased by dinosaurs... The first time we were chased into the building, on the street, everywhere!

But it was fun when thinking back about it.

Sleep paralysis continued

2 days after I wrote this :Weird sleep and sleep paralysis , I experienced sleep paralysis AGAIN. and it was 3 times in a row! Fuck!!! Maybe it's caused by psychology effect that I gave to myself. But it sort of felt like the "phenomenon" (i.e. sleep paralysis) was taking a revenge on me for "exposing" it in my blog.

It almost happened for a 4th time. I changed sleeping posture. And it didn't. It was hard this time to "get out" of it. Hate this.

The Tiger Woods saga

Has everybody heard of the Tiger Woods saga already? Early in the morning, his car hit a fire hydrant. It was first report his wife Elin "bravely" broke the rear glass by a golf club, got him out and therefore saving him.

Then I saw on ET (Entertainment Tonight) that there were reports that say they had an arguement and something like Elin broke his car window by the golf club out of anger instead of "saving" Tiger Woods and then Tiger Woods hit the fire hydrant.

I don't know which is the truth. The stories that followed were more juicy. Even the prime time "serious" NEWS too reported some of those.

Soon after the accident, the media somehow (we all know who did it) obtained a telephone conversation between Tiger and an alleged mistress. Tiger requested her to do him a favour by taking her name from her phone as Elin has checked Tiger's phone and that "she may call". I guess millionair too can't avoid having their phones being checked by wives, huh.

Prime time NEWS everywhere broadcasted this conversation too. For God's sake. Have they all became tabloid??? Or entertainment news???? And this is a private phone call... How can they broadcast it all over the world like that? I can understand if ET (Entertainment Tonight) plays it, but Prime time NEWS?!?!!!! Have they got nothing better to report??!

And now everyday on ET is all about Tiger. The busybody professionals like marriage counsellors start coming out, saying Tiger should do this, Elin should do that... Other people start asking how much will Elin get if they divorce.............................................. Jesus! All these are really stupid.... and annoying. And who can blame Michael Jackson for hating the tabloids?

New Moon - Movie

Yesterday was my company's first movie night (also my first ever movie night anywhere!). It was at Cineleisure. I didn't expect to see this when we're at Level 1, near the lift~! Nice~

So we watched New Moon. It's sometimes boring but better than the first movie... This movie does not do Robert Pattinson (Edward) justice. In my opinion, he's not really handsome. But this movie makes him ugly. The pale make up and red lips made him looks horrible. The Edward in the book is supposed to look pale but GORGEOUS! Dr Carlisle actually looks better than Edward, in my opinion. He looks elegant but Pattinson looks like he has not had enough sleep (thus the pale face) and walking around in pyjamas (actually he's wearing a shirt, unbotton most of the bottons).

No wonder the guy who acted as Jacob is so popular now. He's hot! He's not really handsome too but he's hot! He looks better than Edward in the movie. Edward's paleness is just too fake. And he's skinny. His 6 packs is not as defined as Jacob's.

And I dislike Bella (I don't know her real name)'s acting. She rrreally likes to look at the floor and she likes to blink a lot. It's so annoying. And when she's trying to say things to Edward and perhaps she can't find the words, she looked constipated. And I was like "Say what you want to say already for God's sake!!"

I actually like Jacob's acting the most. Very natural.

I told my colleagues I think they've shrunk 4 stories into 3 movies. But I was wrong. I checked back the plots. The third book - Eclipse, its story was so boring to me that I had no recollection of it. I only remember the 4th which Bella and Edward got married.

Honestly I don't really like the movie series so far. But since I've watch 2 (I didnt hv to pay for New Moon else..), I guess I'll continue to watch the other 2 sequels.

Weird sleep & sleep paralysis

Normally, I fall asleep very fast. Most of the time, within 10min upon hitting the sack. But it's been some time now, I would say, 70% of the time, I would be awaken by nothing roughly 5 or 10min into what I call my "70%-asleep-30%-awake" sleep. I would wake up, my heart beating fast...It's really disrupting. I don't know why is this happening. I don't recall it happen when I'm in JB house. I am not sure though. I shall observe.

When I am awaken like this, my heart beats fast, as if I just had a nightmare. But I didn't have a nightmare and I hardly have nightmare. My dreams are mostly happy dreams and adventurous dreams. Whatever the reason for that, I always go back to sleep very soon, without problem. But is is nevertheless annoying.

I experience sleep paralysis (被鬼压) pretty often, as compare to others. So frequent that I got used to it. I know exactly what is happening when I experience that. I used to be very very scared when that happened. Now I am not that scared anymore, even though the "experience" became "scarier".

Few years back when it happened, I just saw my room and I was not able to move, no matter how I struggled and screamed (no sound coming out of my mouth of course). I had to use so much energy to wake up from that. Now, when it happens, sometimes it's not just my room that I see.

I'd see things other than the furnitures in my room. Like an old lady backfacing me. Oh wait, it's too long ago I can't remember was it during sleep paralysis happened to me or when I was actually dreaming. Anyway, I saw my room (actually one hardly dreams things exactly the way it is in real life), exactly my room, my view was exactly how I'd see things when I lay in bed. And I saw this old lady dragging a suitcase... Eventually I woke up, heart beating fast. And then I continued to sleep again. There was another dream, my view point was the same, it was how I'd see things when I lay in bed. And there was this man sitting on the far end of my bed, back facing me. (hey wait a minute, hv I written abt this before..? can't remember) And it's like in the movie where the camera zooms in to his back. He was slowly turning his head... Just when his face about to turn towards me, I woke up. Whew.................. I hardly have nightmare but these are 2 of the only few. It's scary because the "background" was my room.

Anyway, I digress. The most recent sleep paralysis I experienced, I was laying on my left, facing the wall. And it hit me. My brain told me I am seeing the wall, seeing the bed, seeing my hand. And of course I couldn't move. Then I roughly see a head, between my face and the wall. I was so tired and so fed up with these... I was angry and I said "loudly" (I wasn't really saying it out.. just in my head.. since my body was asleep and brain's awake) to that "head" : "GO.TO.HELL."
Once was not enough. I "said" it again : "GO. TO. HELL!" And I was awake. And I continue sleeping as normal.

Most of the time sleep paralysis happens when I am really tired. But sometimes it just happens. No reason. I hope it won't happen again. It's really tiring trying to "get out" of it. If you never experienced it you probably can't imagine. It's like you're bound with ropes all over and you're gagged. And you have to use all your energy to break that rope.

People who experienced sleep paralysis often say they were kidnapped by aliens.. No aliens have ever contacted me yet, for your record. :D

Latin Aerobics

Just now 3pm went for Latin Aerobics with colleauges, our quarterly special sports event. The last one they had salsa lesson. I haven't join the company then.

I could not do the steps along with hand movements. Hahaa.... Once I tried to do it together with hand movements, my steps will get all messed up. So I just concentrate on the foot work. The instructor was good, he's quite big size but boy he can twist!

I thought I was doing it badly. But apparently I wasn't as bad as I thought I was. For the instructor, half way teaching, said to me "Wah, you're very good ah~" COOL... haha. So happy.

He's the same instructor at the gym I go to during lunch hour. He teaches kickboxing and steps(er.. I don't know the correct name of that exercise). I didn't join his class so far as I think it's too rush. I usually just go to gym to run and cycle. He then asked me why I never join his class. Maybe I should. I do like kickboxing, but it's a bit rush.

The Latin Aerobics was quite fun. But as usual, I don't really "let go" and twist. Still very self-conscious of how I look when I move. Also, I think it'll be easier to twist and shake your bootie when you know the steps well. I hope next time they have hip-hop or jazz dancing~

Finally our "Wii competition" is coming, next Tuesday. I didn't get to go gym as much as I like because I have to "man the station" during lunch hour and teach colleagues how to play, etc. I want to go gym at least 3 days a week at lunch time!! But... wah, hand washing my exercise attire is going to be so tiring..

Busy calendar!

It's really crazy in the company. We're so "busy"! Next week we're gonna have a 2hours or so Latin Aerobic session. Next next week, on Tuesday we'll have our Wii competition from 3pm, on Wednesday we'll have badminton from 3pm, on Thursday we'll leave early for our movie night, the movie is at 5:30pm. So many schedules in my calendar! It's crazy! hahaha.. But I ain't complaining!! :D

I wonder what's coming up after these. But it's year end, everyone will be clearing their leaves, office will be really empty. And then it'll be CNY. Hope next year will be this busy with events too!

Singing Queen! ...amongst three

Today we have company outing, a karaoke session. It was so fun, our site manager even surprised everyone with 4 trophies and we had karaoke competition! One for best female vocal, one for best male vocal and one for best duet.

And I won best female vocal! Wohoa! but.. only 3 of us competing lah. hehehehehehe...... It was sort of due to time constraint as well. But it's so funny loh. At the age of 32, this year, this is my second trophy. ha! I got 2 trophies this year!! (the other one is this) Will I have another trophy next year, maybe? hahaha..
Oh by the way, I sang Faye Wong's Eyes On Me.

Can see my camera in the reflection....

Trophy aside, this was a really fun night. We booked 1 big room and 4 small rooms. The colleagues with me don't really sing. So I chose the songs which are commonly known and fun to sing. Like Bee Gees, Abba, and The Beetles. And everyone could sing along~

It was a really fun night. Oh, I'm repeating myself.. geez, getting old. ha!

30 children!

Roughly 30 children were in our office today! As I mentioned many times, today was the Bring Your Kids To Work day. It's real fun to meet our colleagues kids.

But honestly, I can't handle a group of children above 4 years old. I can't deal with that. It's too much for me. hahaha....

Though it was fun, it was also very tiring.... I had fun using my Sony DSLR to take their photos too. I've walked so much today, and boy, am I tired. I'm having a headache since 5pm... Seriously.

Before all of us went home, one of colleagues brought her son to toilet. Her son was still holding the paper bag that they designed for a competition for the day. I thought they were heading back home since he was holding that bag. But no, he was going to the toilet. He had refused to put down that paper bag even when he's going to toilet.... So cute right? It must be a very nice memory for him, and the rest of the kids as well. I think they had quite a good time.

Still, it is tiring. I guess no one would volunteer for this event again in future. hahaha....

Simple.happiness.

I'm starting the countdown till Chinese New Year, for the "spring wind" has started. It's so windy now. At 3pm just now, I was sitting at our (JB) garden, chilling and eating fruit and enjoying the wind. It was so nice, I'm telling ya.

Feeling the wind in my hair, watching a pair of sparrows collect dried grass back to their nest (on our roof), watching the trees sway.. insignificant as they were, these little things do make me happy.

A karaoke sessions with EK yesterday made me very happy too.Sometimes I can't believe how easy it is for me to feel happiness. Of course, one can't be happy all the time. I wish everything is all that simple, but of cos they are not. But I appreciate the times when I feel happy :)

Happy karaoke

Today Ek and I went karaoke, just the two of us. My uncle and brother said "HUH? Only two? What's the fun of it when there's only 2 people?" But it was fun~

We sang a lot of songs, in 3 and a half hours. And I still felt "not enough". I could continue to sing if we have the time. Haha~ We sang a bit of new songs (we're getting outdated with the new songs!), the songs of our generations and some real oldies, like Michael Jackson's "Ben" which EK never even heard of cos this song is old! It was sung by Michael when he's about 12 yrs old. It's nearly 40 years old! Yet it still sounds so great. Every song of Michael still sounds great. And a lot of Michael's songs are in the popular list!! We sang a few more, like Heal The World.

We even sang Linkin Park's Numb~! It was a real fun time, we had a lot of laughs~ It was just great~

Bodyworld

I went to see the Body Worlds Exhibition with my friend Jessie. It's really funny how I ended up going to this exhibition.

One day Jessie asked if I want to visit this exhibition about human body at Science Centre. She wasn't sure the exhibition name in English so I couldn't look it up on the net. I went to Science Ctr website but I didn't really see it. It actually has a website of its own but I didn't know then. And I have never heard of this exhibition. Neither have I saw it in newspaper nor tv.

But, not many friends enjoy going to see (any) exhibitions, thus I was thinking, since someone asked me to go for an exhibition, I should just grab the opportunity and just go, whatever the exhibition is. hahahaha..... So I said ok, let's go.

Days later I saw it on tv, I was busy with other things, I didn't read indepth about this exhibition. I just went to the website and purchased tickets as it's got discounts if book online then. When I went home, I told my bro I was going to see this exhibition. My brother said "Disgusting." or something like that. I was like, "Huh?? What? What is disgusting? Just an exhibition."

The thing was, I did not know it's an exhibition of real human bodies. I thought it's just wax figures. So my bro said "Yalah, real human bodies." I got absolutely excited when I heard that, "OH REALLY???! GREAT! I LIKE!" hahaha....................

So I went with Jessie and her sister-in-law. The plastinates looked plastic. So, you really don't feel disgusted by it. They looked like they are still wet. You have to keep reminding yourself that those, those are real human being. It's really amazing, how they preserved the bodies and arranged in such aesthetical ways.

I looked into the eyes of the plastinates, and reminded myself, this is a real person's eyes, that once were gleaming with life too. It's a really strange feeling. It's hard to describe, how I felt when I was standing there, looking at dead people in all sorts of postures. And I respect these people. They donated their bodies. Even though once we died, we wouldn't know, but the thought of having your own body being cut and dissected and exposed like that, is not something people will be willing to even think about, especially for Asians. Will I one day be the one who is willing to donate my body? I don't think so. I want my body to be cremated and my ashes be sprinkled into the sea.

There was also a squid, octopus, deers, a horse and a giraffe. The horse was humongous!! Gosh... I never knew a horse can be that big. Those in the zoo, I know they are ponies, but still I never knew a horse is THAT big.......... It's scary... Looks like a dinosaur of some sort. The giraffe was huge too! And really tall. Why is it I didn't really feel anything special about giraffe when I saw it at the zoo...??? Perhaps cos we're viewing the giraffes (at the zoo) on a high rise platform...

Everyone should go and see this exhibition. It's fantastic!

Fun filled week ahead?

Oh next week is going to be a "busy" work week. I said "busy", cos.. it's not all work.

Monday will be our Bring Your Kids To Work day. As I'm one of the committees, will be running here and there. It's a whole day event. We have 30kids from 4-15 yrs old coming! I'm supposed to take photos too. I'm going to bring my DSLR and also my point and shoot... Just in case I couldn't figure out the DSLR. hahaha... I hope I won't need to resort to my point and shoot!

And then Tuesday will be our Safety Day. There will be talks about safety or something by AIA people. There'll be "CPR competition". I want to join this. haha. And we get free foot massage too. I have never tried foot massage... in fact, I have NEVER tried ANY massage cos I don't really fancy it. I believe I will stop the masseur after 1 minute (bcos of the pain). hahahah...

Wed evening is karaoke event. We'll probably leave office after 4pm. Can't wait to sing with my colleagues!

Thursday will be normal working days and Friday is a public holiday! So happy! Finally a public holiday!! Hooray!!

Colourful corns!

My brother planted some different corns. It's very small, and it looks quite different from the ones we eat. It's really really bright colour. This is the yellow one.

Look at this! A red corn!! I didn't know there's red corn! My bro said he also planted black ones.

Close up. Seriously, this is a corn, not palm fruit or whatever.

The colours are really pretty.
Will show the black corn if we have it!

My work station

Few weeks back, attended First Aid Course sponsored by company. Should have brought my camera there. This was taken by my mobile phone. These are the "victims". Luckily I volunteered to be the victim one task before this. This looks really ugly. hahaha.

Now, my workstation, this is my cubicle.

Bought some plants to decorate my workstation.

I like this plant because it looks like it's got red veins.

Look at the tiny leaves, so cute.

This is my cactus "baby" from JB. It's so weird, because its "brother and sister" growing differently from this.

Over one particular weekend, it suddenly grow this much! Seriously, it wasn't growing at lot before this. One Monday I came back to work, I had a shock!

This was over another weekend, that means after 2 weeks, it has grown "up" 1cm! Its "brother and sister" are growing side and outwards, but not "upwards"... Bro said air-cond room is ideal for cactus. I thought cactus needs a lot of sun.....

Decorated my cubicle with a little Christmas tree~ Bought these from Daiso, tree $2, decoration balls $2, little Santas $2, total $6. So cute, right?

And! My KING - Michael. Angel bought me this magnet. I stick it on my partition so I can look at him everyday :)
